One of the greatest pleasures in the Audible files
Dr. Seuss and John Lithgow! Geniuses galore. I read these books to my sons and we loved them. John Lithgow gives such a thrilling performance that I can't imagine a finer one. And, although I know that this is completely off the wall, it struck me around two minutes in that the story predicts the current political nightmare. I know, I know, it was written long ago, and recorded in 2006. Nonetheless, Yertle is a preposterous figure. Exactly like someone we know.
If you don't love this, then I just don't know what.

very good story and a very good overall moral!
wonderful and very teachable scenario indeed!delightful addition to my 7 yr old daughter's all-time favorite stuffed animal(snuggle buddy) that she absoladores so so much!!

Fantastic delivery by Lithgow
John Lithgow's narration is so fun to listen to; my 5- and 3-yr-olds ask to hear this Dr. Suess one over and over...they repeat some of his more dramatic lines. One of the best children's stories we've gotten from Audible.

Too loud background music
Cannot hear the narrator many times as the background music is too loud. Not good at all
