Publisher's summary

Once upon a time, in the long ago 1970’s, in an imaginary land called Manhattan, once a year magically appeared an enchanting fantasy world called Santa-land, in which, after several arduous job interviews and elf training two young men named Travis Mortensen and Joel Wineberg who both loved Christmas, found themselves working as elves at Janson's Department store.

Known by their elf names Nutmeg and Snowflake, they were not only diligent workers but also incredibly adorable.

In their elf outfits, Nutmeg and Snowflake exuded a delightful mix of whimsy and holiday cheer. Their costumes accentuated their youthful features and highlighted their lithe young elf bodies, all the elves looking attractive and attractive to each other was part of what inspired their dedication to spreading joy and happiness during the festive season in Santa-land.

Young elves Nutmeg and Snowflake, filled with anticipation and joy, found met and admired each other in costume in the changing room and quickly found themselves immersed in a heartfelt conversation about their excitement for working at Santa-land and witnessing the happiness of the children they'll encounter.

Nutmeg's eyes lit up as he shared his enthusiasm with Snowflake. "Joel, I can hardly contain my excitement! Just thinking about the children's faces shining up with joy when they see Santa Claus and experience the magic of Santa-land... It fills my heart with warmth. I can't wait to be a part of creating those magical moments for them."

Snowflake's smile mirrored Nutmeg's excitement as he nods in agreement. "Travis, I feel the same way! The holiday season is such a special time, and being able to be a part of it, bringing joy to the children and seeing their smiles, is truly a blessing. I'm eager to help create lasting memories for them.”

They exchange glances, sharing the mutual understanding that their roles as elves in Santa-land hold great significance.

Would be super cute if it were shown.

The word that most came to mind with this one was … ‘pointless’.
It’s told (as in literally told-writing style, not shown, so it’s dull) in fairytale-style. In theory it’s probably set in a cute world, but the reader doesn’t get to see much of that, due to the ‘telling’ writing style.

It does seem to be trying to pack in a lesson and might actually be good for young or under-developed minds, I suppose—it’s just a tough read due to the writing style.

I wouldn’t say it was bad by any means, but ‘good’ isn’t a word I’d use either, and I’ll not read anymore from this author.

Not for me.

The overall sound quality is good, though the narrator sounded rather like a bot.
