Publisher's summary

He's a rough Vikir warrior. She's a mostly proper librarian. Can an Earthling woman and a green-scaled alien find love together in the stars?

After she's kidnapped by blue-skinned aliens, Taylor escapes and bails from an alien space station in a shuttle she has no clue how to drive. She crash lands on a nearby planet made up mostly of jungle. Once she finds her way off the planet, she's determined to return to Earth. Until Wulf, her Crakairian "mate", comes to her rescue. He says he won't fight her if she wants to return home, but that doesn't stop him from trying to change her mind. He's gruff and scaly and much too appealing. And his kisses? If she could keep her hands off him, she might be able to think straight. But with jungle creatures trying to eat them, going home might not be an option.

As head of his Vikir clan's warrior regiment, Wulf is scarred and unrefined, the exact opposite of his sweet female mate who speaks in a sophisticated manner and loves books. When she tells him she's thinking of returning to Earth, he decides to show her what she'll be missing, even if he can only do this in a rough and bumbling way. But with jungle creatures hunting them, their biggest challenge will be escaping the planet.

Wulf is book five in the Mail-Order Brides of Crakair series, but it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

Good

Not my favorite one the girl was annoying at first but by the end I liked her and I wondered if they ever took those books to the carpet like creatures

Don’t let the negative comments sway you.

I’m giving this book 4.25 stars because thought the characters were well developed, it tackled an important issue in a balanced way, and it was generally a good listen. I subtracted from a star because the place was too slow and need a bit more of the action/intrigue that we’ve come to expect. Also, the narrators need to expand their catalogue of voices. People are starting to sound the same.

So I read this book despite all the negative reviews and…I’m glad I did. IMO, those readers missed the point and it was a good one: real people (and aliens) can have body image issues for many different reasons. What I appreciated most (and what none of the negative comments seemed to notice) is that both MCs suffered from negative self-esteem around their bodies, both the result of external influences and each found the other extremely attractive. It was a central issue in the book and I thought it was handled well from the POV of both MCs.

Taylor, the female MC was a chatter box and it was a bit annoying BUT that was her personality. It was purposeful and it played off Wulf’s stoic nature. I thought she was one of the better developed characters in the series.

I thought this book was lacking in the pacing areas. It needed a better protagonists than plants and bugs. Taylor and Wulf were great characters in a good book.

Good book

Taylor was definitely annoying but honestly I love the Crakair men. The dialogue makes me smile and I love how much they adore their partners. I’m happy Taylor was rescued and sad that I’m almost done with the series. Looking forward to the next book.

Action Adventure

This book was filled with action, adventure, humor and laughs, love, and self-doubt. Both narrators did a fantastic job with characters; however Teddy was phenomenal in making me laugh with not knowing Human words and phrases. Just love his narration skills. Great listen!

Action packed and so sweet!

Another great tale. A wild escape through a planet populated by fierce and hungry monsters sets the scene for this romance. I guess love can blossom and grow in even the nastiest places. The hero in this book is so vulnerable and sweet. The librarian heroine was adorable. Some of their miscommunication had me roaring with laughter. Thank you for giving me a few hours of escape and happiness. I am looking forward to the next book!

Its been so long since I read this that...

I forgot how utterly irritating Taylor (FMC) is. All she does is go on & on & on about how she looks & comparing her ex to Wulf (MMC, who deserves soooo much better than her constant whining) 13 chapters of hearing her babbling about it. Her inner monolog made me want to strangle her. Who wants a heroine full of self loathing? I had to stop & walk away, but then only went back to suffer through the rest to move on to Lyel.

This book promotes self hate

I quickly realized that this book promotes so much self hate. The female in the book Taylor continuously says things like; I'm too fat, I jiggle, if you really saw me you would be disgusted, my boobs should be bigger and perkier. She tells Wulf that her thighs are too big for her and her butt is too big. I can't comprehend how she could hate herself so much and yet sign up to be a bride if she finds herself so disgusting. Her self loathing is so tiring and annoying. Not a fun read and I definitely didn't feel the romance. Even if the ending was better.

Not the best...

I've been enjoying this series but this one is a stretch. Taylor, the female character is almost too much to believe. She exhibits all the worst traits of a ditzy earthling. This is the weakest entry of the series so far.
