Critic Reviews

"AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING! I'm not sure how to begin this review and remain professional... so I'll just be honest. I FUDGING loved this book! (SOOO SOOO MUCH!) It was fantastic!" (Nancy Figueroa, Tumbling Books)
" Wrecked is a well written, well paced, novel that not only has action and adventure…but also has plenty for those who are fans of romance, comedy, and drama." (www.aliceinreaderland.wordpress.com)
"Elle can write her butt off…the characters of Wrecked had me interested right away. I was hooked and couldn't stop reading until I knew what would happen to them. These aren't your typical dumb kids - they're intelligent and witty. Their dialogue had me smiling the entire way through the book. They were at times smart and funny, then clumsy and embarrassing as teenagers often are. I even found myself relating to one of the characters, the geeky Jonathon." (Author Jason Brant)

Fun, adventurous story

I listened to the audible version of this book and the narration was fantastic. Arielle DeLisle really made the characters come alive for me. I'm sure I would have enjoyed reading the book just as much, though.

I love the characters and their very distinct personalities. Though some are not very likeable at first, once you get to know them, they become more endearing, which is actually the premise of the story. Don't be so quick to judge others before you actually know them. When trouble arises, it is their unique individual qualities that help them overcome adversity.

Though this story is written at a young teen level, there is a bit too much strong language and sexual content for that age group, in my opinion. I think it would be better suited for a more mature or older teen, but as a senior grandma, I enjoyed it. Looking forward to reading the sequel.

Great story!

What made the experience of listening to Wrecked the most enjoyable?

I loved this story as a young adult story! The characters are fun and you learn so much about them; Candi, Sarah, Kevin, and Jonathan. The narrator did a great job of moving from one voice to the next and distinguishing between them was easy! Elle Casey is a great story teller and I love ALL her books that I have had the pleasure of reading!

What does Arielle DeLisle bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Great characterization between male/female characters.

Any additional comments?

Recommend if you like fun, light-hearted, young adult, adventurous novels!

Loved the story

This story was so cute and not too cute there was some like cussing like sexual moments like murderous thoughts and just that perfect combination between being too much of a kid book for an adult to enjoy and 2 not pg-rated 4 the younger generation to enjoy excellent job.

I really enjoyed myself!

If you could sum up Wrecked in three words, what would they be?

Glad I read

What other book might you compare Wrecked to and why?

hmm. I haven't read any other 'shipwrecked' or 'trapped on an island' books, but i guess it could kind of compare to "Blue Lagoon"

What about Arielle DeLisle’s performance did you like?

Sometimes I couldn't tell which character was talking because the voices are kind of similar, but the narrator was pretty good!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Kevin tells the group his secret, instead of getting mad at him, the group all accepted his apology and vowed to not keep anymore secrets between them because they are family now.

Any additional comments?

This was a nice turn away from the 'insta love' books. Yeah, the Buckley's kind of had crushes on the Patterson's, but they let the relationship develop before they got all cozy. I think this type of read would be good for all ages, not just young adult.
PLUS** If you ever get stranded on a uninhabited island, you have a few factoids and tips and tricks!!

abrupt ending...

Storyline was pretty good, but it ended abruptly. And the narrator, while good, got a weird accent happening whenever she stressed words lol
