Publisher's Summary

Sarah Smith in Pine Hill, Kentucky, has had her heart broken in the past. She pours herself into her work at church and into special projects - like making a quilt for a wounded warrior.

Bodie Lewis is lost. All he’s ever wanted was his career as an Army Ranger, but he was injured in an explosion that killed his brothers in arms. In the hospital, he receives a handmade quilt. Later, he sets out on his final mission: to find and thank its maker.

Bodie expected Sarah to be an elderly lady, not a lovely young woman. When she mistakes him for a handyman, he doesn’t immediately set her straight. Instead, he sets about repairing the home she’s turning into a bed and breakfast. Sarah’s presence and the spirit of the small town bring Bodie something he thought he’d left far behind on the battlefield: hope.

This heartwarming sweet romance includes a new original Hallmark recipe for Cinnamon Swirl Bread.

Sweet Sarah and an Army Ranger

At first, I thought I might not be able to stick this one out . . . although I’m a big fan of Christmas stories as well as military tales. It just seemed too sugary sweet for me at first, not enough conflict to make it even believable, or to keep my interest. BUT . . . hold it right there . . . 😊 Those butterflies kept stirring me up . . . and Bodie with his antics, calling them wasps, and dragonflies, soon had me in stitches. I guess we’ve all known someone like Sarah, too sweet and naïve for her own good . . . but as I listened, she even rubbed off on me . . . because she actually DID know the score . . . and still choose JOY . . . unlike this old cynic. Bah! Humbug! I do love clean, Christian listens, and on that score, this book hits the spot. Finally, I did get to learn all about Sarah, her minister father, her aunt, and about Bodie and what he suffered in the war. So, even if you are a realist, like me, give this one a listen. You’ll be glad you did!

Wonderful, heartwarming Christmas story.

The words created beautiful imagery in my mind. I could almost see the story undead if watching a movie as I listened. Love it!

warm holiday love

The story is slightly long winded but the end is worth the listen. A small town Kentucky girl who loves Christmas has a surprise she's not looking for this Christmas.... love. Sara and Body, a couple who goes against all odds during one Christmas season.

Beautifully Elegant in its Simplicity

The beauty of this book is that although it is a work of fiction the characters are realistically written making them relatable, believable and fun to listen to. This takes place in a small town full of the appropriare archetypes but feels so real that it is just absolutely refreshing. The romance builds gradually in a tangible way. You see this couple actually falling in love instead of just some quick, fiery, lusty crush. The narration is excellent and imbued with just the right amount of emotion.

To be honest, I felt the story dragged a bit in a couple of places, but the plot is so beautiful and the author takes such care to characterize and describe feelings and thoughts, that this novel does not deserve anything less than 5 stars. I will be looking up more books by her.

If romance in a vividly described small town setting, folded within a lush Christmas season is your kind of thing, look no further. You've just found your next listen.

Wrapped up in Christmas

I loved this audiobook. It was warm, and inviting, and I loved the story. I am so happy that she is going to marry Bodie. She made that blanket for him, not knowing who he was, but she made it with love and tears with Aunt Jean’s passing. He joined the sheriffs department, and is now a full-fledged deputy. This was such a heart felt audio, it made me cry with tears when she made that blanket for Bodie. I would love to know where they are going on their honeymoon. But I was so happy that she married the man of her dreams, her soldier, that she loved so dearly.
