Publisher's summary

“It’s not that I don’t love him. It’s that I feel selfish for loving him.”

Wyatt Worth has been a grieving widower for 12 long years, devoting himself fully to his work and the care of his daughter, Temperance. But when circumstances bring him face-to-face with the lover he ghosted 12 years ago, Wyatt has to make an important choice: Does he make room in his heart for love, or does he commit himself to his loneliness for the rest of his life?

“Even after all this time, I can’t stop the way my heart beats faster for him. But I won’t be anyone’s dirty little secret. Not again.”

Vance Waite was only 19 when he had an affair with Wyatt after the passing of Wyatt’s wife - but it left a lasting impression. For years he hasn’t allowed himself to move on, Wyatt’s handprint still embedded in his heart. Now that the little girl he dreamed of raising himself is a student in his classroom, there’s no more hiding from what was - but more importantly, Vance has to decide if he can trust in the possibility of what could be.

Welcome to Worthington, Texas, where the heat doesn't just rise in the summer - you'll feel it all year long in these stories of older men and their younger lovers. Every audiobook in the Worth It series can be listened to on its own, but with so many familiar characters to love, why stop with just one? This last in series features one confused preteen, two men who make good on their second chance at love, and a brilliantly satisfying happily ever after.

Second chance romance

So, these guys...*shakes head* They had a thing really soon after Wyatt's wife died...and Vance was 19 years-old. Okay, I get it, when you are 19 you are naive, and think this doomed-from-the-beginning situation it's actually kind of romantic: bringing back to life to an older man, who is grieving, and even get a family out of it. But Wyatt should have known better. I'll give him a free pass because, grieving.

But doing the same mistake after 12 years? I actually cheered-up when Vance dumped him. And I find truly telling that it's Temperance who is the actual adult in that family :P

But, in the end, Wyatt does the right thing, and well... everybody is happy :P

Not the best of the series, but entertaining.

Nikola Muckajev keeps doing a great job narrating.

Couldn’t put it down

This is the tenth book in the Worth It Series with well-developed characters (second chance romance). Wyatt and Vance who had a fling 12 years ago, but due to rumors Vance walked away taking his daughter with him. Even thru all these years neither one really moved on. 12-year-old Temperance brought the two back together. Vance has to prove to Wyatt that he doesn’t want to keep their relationship in the closet. The plan that Temperance and Vance come up with was one of my favorite moments in the book. I love this series and sad to see it come to an end. The narration was well done.

Definitely worth a listen

Honestly, this series got better and better. This being the last book, it was probably my favorite. And the Epilogue featured the couples from previous books with an HEA so that was a treat.

The narrator has a seriously amazing voice and I became addicted to the audio in this series because of it.

Definitely worth a listen.

Sweet Ending

Muckajev is a truly fantastic narrator and makes the whole series worth the listen. I was a little disappointed in this final installment it felt a bit rushed and repeats itself but overall it was a nice finish to the series.

Definitely worth it!

Audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.

Narrator: Nikola Muckajev is a voice that’s new to me. I think his voice was great for the characters. I really enjoyed listening to the voices he provided for each of the characters, even the voice for Temperance, the voices were all distinct and the pitch and tone made for pleasant listening. I’m looking forward to listening to other books he has performed.

Story: Gay-for-you storylines are what I enjoy reading the the most. I find it really fascinating to see how the author shapes the character that emphatically states he’s not gay but desires the another man. This is the case with Wyatt, straight and a father and Vance who is gay. The story starts in the present but gives you glimpses of the shared back story of how the “relationship” of Wyatt and Vance began. There were quite a few tense and awkward moments between them and add in a teen definitely made it strained. There were also the supporting characters which contributed to make the story more interesting. I thought I would be lost in the story since this is the 10th book in the series and I haven’t read any others yet, but the focus was more on Vance and Wyatt so it was ok. I do definitely plan to check out the others. I would definitely recommended!

TIME WASTED IS TIME AND LOVE THAT IS LOST

This story shows how people feel guilty and put too much pressure on themselves and let gossip and rumors run their lives. The deep love that Vance has for Wyatt is one of epic proportions in my book. Wyatt’s celibacy after he leaves Vance is extremely admirable and also makes me feel as if he never stopped loving Vance. It takes the wisdom of a child to fix things. The ending with everyone doing what they did, surprised me because the other books contradict this scene.

I received this story for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.

The narrator is still the best that I’ve listened to as he puts emotion, voice changes and brings life to the story. I can follow him without a book. SENSATIONAL!!

A Good Second Chance Story

This is the tenth book in The Worth It Series. You don’t need to read/listen to all the previous books to enjoy this one. But you may want to for their sake and for the fullest enjoyment of this book. A wonderfully written book with an entertaining plot that was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters likeable. The characters were developed and thought out. Wyatt and Vance are the MC’s of this book. The narration was good and enjoyable. I can recommend this book as a good read/listen. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Wonderful conclusion to this series!

This book has a little bit of angst, but the characters are well-written, believable, and lovable. I liked the aspects that included a teenage daughter as well. Highly recommend!
