Publisher's Summary

From New York Times best-selling author K. Bromberg comes a new, sexy standalone about taking chances and finding love when it's least expected. Or wanted.

This whole contest was supposed to be easy. I know, I know. Famous last words.

It's a long story, but I messed up at work. Big time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. Yep. That Hot Dad contest you've seen advertised all over the place was my idea. And if I'm successful, if I'm able to increase our online readership, then I get a shot at my dream job.

But the one thing I never expected to happen, happened: Contestant number 10, Grayson Malone. Hello, Mr. Difficult. And did I mention sexy as hell?

Unfortunately he knows me. The old me, anyway. And while we might be older now, I remind him of before. Of the woman who broke his heart, who hardened him, and who left him alone to raise the cutest little boy I've ever seen.

But I don't want a relationship. And I definitely don't fall for single dads with baggage. Even ones with chiseled abs and killer smiles.

But he got to me. They got to me. Him and his son and their messy, crazy life. But I got to him too. I see the stolen glances. I feel the walls he built start to crumble. I recognize that there's an unexpected beauty to the chaos in his life.

And now that the contest is about to end, we're left to decide whether the last six months were just fun or if what we have is worth risking it all.

This book is definitely Worth the Risk!

Kristy Bromberg knows how to write a great love story. Those Malone brothers are swoon worthy and as a cherry on top little Luke Malone comes in and steals your heart. This book takes to the edge of an emotional journey and saves you in the nick of time. This is a great story and a must read. Zachary and Grace give a great performance.

Worth the Risk is DEFINITELY Worth the Risk!

Worth the Risk is DEFINITELY a book that is worth the risk if you have never read any of K. Bromberg's books! It is a funny, frustrating, heartbreaking, sweet cry of a story.

Grayson Malone is a hero...but don't ask him or he'll tell you different. His biggest fan is his 8 year old son, Luke. Being both a single dad and a medieval pilot brings along a lot of responsibility, stress, and baggage.
Sidney Thorton is back in her hometown trying to right a wrong career move when she realizes that that one wrong move might have been the rightest wrong she ever made.

I knew that I was going to love this story but I didn't realize that I was going to LOVE this story! Grayson was frustrating but he had his reasons and I can't fault him for feeling the way that he did. Of course, a little communication would have helped but then we wouldn't have all the angst that we love to hate, right? Sidney...I know that some would say that she was selfish and entitled and while I kind of see that I more so saw where she had grown up some and while she still had her moments, she wasn't the same girl with a silver spoon in her hand that she was in high school. Then we have Luke. Oh. My. Goodness. How anyone wouldn't fall right in love with him I will never know. He is 8 and while he knows he is loved by his dad, there is nothing like a mother's love and he longs for it. He broke my heart and he made me literally laugh out loud.

Grace Grant and Zachary Webber are wonderful at not only the narration, in general, but really making you feel what the characters are feeling. You really can't go wrong with those two.

Worth the Listen

I just finished listening to Worth the Risk on Audible and it was incredible! Grace Grant and Zachary Webber did a great job of bringing Sidney and Grayson's story to life! They show so much emotion at the right moments and made me really feel the pain the characters felt and the love they felt for one another. My favorite moments in the book came at the hands of a charming 8-year old boy. Luke definitely steals the show!

I highly recommend this audio!

Angst

This book was fairly long and drawn out compared to the other book “ Combust” from the series. I also felt like the demons the main character Grayson had to face were legitimate. However, it was frustrating how incredibly irrational he could be with the way he handled them. My favorite character in the book was Grayson’s son Luke. He gave the book the necessary comic relief through all the angst. I enjoyed the book and the ending but I think the push pull back and forth from the main characters was a bit exhausting at times.

I am a big fan of Zachary Webber and he was great.

I listened to this because of Zachary Webber. I love everything he narrates. I still have to get used to Grace Grant. I've listened to her before but skipped thru my first book with her. I thought the story was different and enlightening. And the son in this story was great. I wanted to rate this higher but I am still warming up to Ms. Grant. Zachary as usual was fantastic!!! But it was a great story line and loved the brothers..they were funny. I am new to the romance novels on audible but enjoying them and learning who the better narrators are. I think Erin Malon would have been the better love interest narrator but that's just me. I love those 2 together.

10 STARS!!

Let me make this really easy. Read this book! This story had it all. Grace Grant was great and Zachary Webber was superb and totally sexy, as usual. If you don’t read it, you’re simply missing out.

So disappointed in the writing

I am far from a prude and enjoy books like this, HOWEVER, is it really necessary to use GD over and over and over again? I couldn't even finish listening to it because hearing the Lord's name taken in vane so incessantly would not allow me to get into the story. If that doesn't bother you, then you will probably enjoy this book. As for me I won't be listening to any more books by K. Bromberg.

Take A Chance On This One

Grayson Malone. Son of the town's Police Chief. Sidney Thornton. High school snob... sort of... Her family owns ten magazines.
Except Sidney, who works for one of her Dad's magazines, manages to screw up one of "THE BEST SCOOPS OF A GENERATION" . She doesn't call saying she'll be late, or she had a personal emergency. No she just misses the scoop.
Her Dad is furious with her and orders to help bring another one of Daddy's magazines back from the brink. "Modern Family". Only Sidney knows zip, zero, nada about families, households or anything mildly close. Her love is Fashion and plain journalism.
In order do get her "Dream Job", she must fix the other magazine.
So she comes up with the idea of a nation wide search for the best looking, heart pounding, genuine , sincere and all around best Dad.
Grayson went to high school with Sidney and her best friend Claire, who acted like they were much better than him.
Yes, he worked at the Soda Shoppe, and yes, he eavse dropped on their conversations.
After all, what wealthy young lady is going to associate with a blue collar working man?
Grayson is scared beyond words.
The woman he loves, the mother of his son, bolts and gives them both up, in order to be able to maintain her wealth, inheritance and lifestyle she's used to.
Unbeknownst to Grayson, his two brothers enter him in this magazine sweepstakes.
He's an amazing father, multiple times hero - who never wants the recognition - and all around amazing Dad.
And he's absolutely gorgeous! With a body so sculpted, he could be one of many carved statues!!
Only when Sidney knocks on his door - he doesn't believe what and who he's seeing.
What ensues from there has me laughing.
And crying.
And heartbroken.
And wishing Grayson was in my bed!
You'll love everything about this book!!

Excellent audiobook!

I am definitely a fan of K. Bromberg's work! storyline was fantastic! I look forward to continuing this Series as I haven't read/listened to book 1 or 2 yet. Zachary Webber does an amazing job telling Greyson's story. I love all the books he narrates! Grace was equally engaging! Audible must have in your Library!!

One of my favourite audios so far this year

Well, I got this book as a beach read for my holidays, but once I started it, I couldn’t stop. I don’t go away for 2 more days! I was completely hooked. Grayson Malone and Sydney Thornton, a match made in heaven, such a shame they were both too stubborn and set in their ways to see it. I loved the characters, the story, the writing, the whole package. I loved the previous 2 Malone stories, but I think this quite possibly tops them both. Sexy dad, enemies to lovers, forbidden romance, interfering family and a cute as a button 8 year old boy. The story was emotional, funny and sexy, all rolled into one. One of my top audios so far this year. As usual perfect narration from Zachary Webber and Grace Grant.

Amazing story, not the most engaging narrators

Really enjoyed the story, found the narrators to be slightly robotic at times. Still worth the listen.

DNF

I kept trying with this one but the story just didn’t grab me enough. It’s been a few weeks since I stopped about half way and I couldn’t tell you what it was happening when I stopped listening.
