Aliens have invaded the planet Intrepid. The vicious rat-faced bastards will stop at nothing until all humanity is either dead or enslaved. The only thing that can save the people of Intrepid are the Imperial Marines. The only thing that can save the galaxy itself, is the Imperial Navy. Never before in human history has so much depended upon so few. Admiral McKenzie is very aware that the continuation of the human race rests on his shoulders. Through grit, determination, skill, and deception he will use whatever or whoever he must to win. His fleet of starships and their crews are the best ever. But will they be enough to defeat this new threat. Sergeant Dex Carter finds himself and a few fellow Marines behind enemy lines. He is tasked with holding the small village of Drake’s Rift, the key crossroads that might very well determine the outcome of the war. Alicia Miller wanted adventure, but having aliens invade her home was not on her list. She and the people of Drake's Rift neve expected to become the center of an inter-galactic war. While providence may have thrust her into this role. Toughness and determination will see her through it.

Cole’s Saga is a stand-alone spin-off series, based on my American Apocalypse series. Cole’s Saga continues the story about Cole Biggs, and how he and his friends survive the apocalypse. North Korea, China, and Iran conspired against the world and used EMP bombs to destroy our grid. This new series starts in the Kentucky / Tennessee part of the US. The grid is down, and people panic as planes fall from the sky and cars stall. The US Government collapses and rogue government groups rise to power. Jack Harp is Cole’s best friend’s father.

Lauren Russell often wondered why her father had been so adamant about teaching her skills that most other fathers wouldn't even consider teaching their daughters. Ever since she was little, she had been taught how to live and survive outdoors, and how to use firearms to protect herself and those around her. Some of the training had been a bit extreme. Or had it been? Many of her questions were answered the day the world as she knew it ended.

The end of the world is close. The dead walk the Earth, feasting on the living. Rogue bands of crazies, gangs of cannibals, and evil organizations fight for what is left of civilization. Blood and violence are the laws of the land. Those that survive must do things that no sane person should be forced to do. Good thing Elsbeth isn't exactly sane.

Publisher's Summary
There should be more to life than just surviving, even in a postapocalyptic world gone to hell.
A lonely 18-year-old, Kris Robertson left his mountain hideaway only to discover a deserted city of isolated individuals scrambling over the debris. Young girls being abducted, wild dogs attacking people. Scared young people hiding from raiding parties and each other. Scavenging for a life among the remains of the past. There is no community, no one in charge. Kris must decide whether to assume that responsibility or walk away.
When Kris saves two young girls from a slaver's raiding party, the decision is made for him. He discovers he is responsible for others' well-being and always will be. Realizing the only safety is in a community working together, Kris and his collected band of misfits create a sanctuary on the rooftops of the city. A place away from the wild animals and wilder men. Unfortunately anything good, anything of value, will be coveted by others. Kris and his friends must fight to save what they have built or run and never be a family again.

YA Dystopian Novel
Kris Robertson breaks every rule his father gave him when he leaves his lonely mountain to look for other people. He finds himself the reluctant protector of innocents in the cities below as he steps into a leadership role.
I'm a fan of post apocalyptic novels but not a fan of violence and detest assault scenes, so I have a hard time finding any I like. This YA dystopian novel seemed like a good choice. I'd say it's written for ages 16+. There was a lot of romance, which luckily I'm a huge fan of as well! Kris is a fighter when needed but gentle with his companions, perfect to root for. The girls, especially Ellen, are really sweet.
The narration was well done, the narrator even seemed to have a young voice to match Kris. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Well worth reading.
I believe the audience the author was writing for is The 15+ year olds and above. The story is fast paced, and made good sense. I am not sure how I acquired, so I will say: I was given this book and am now writing this review, which is great and I recommend this book.

Awful !!!!!!
Maybe for teens !!!
If it wasn’t for a promise of a review I wouldn’t have continued listening to this one right from the start !!!
This book is all Cons:
It started by being told that this book was writing by a very good author named Nate Johnson but no it was written By G. L. Snodgrass an awful writer.
I was shown a book cover that don’t exist ( different picture, different names ).
And then the awful super fast narrating by a kid named Tyler coachran.
In short:
I wouldn’t recommend
This awful book
Not even to
My worst
ENEMY !!!!
