Publisher's summary

In this sequel to the best-selling fantasy thriller Angelfall, the survivors of the angel apocalypse begin to scrape back together what’s left of the modern world. When a group of people capture Penryn’s sister Paige, thinking she’s a monster, the situation ends in a massacre. Paige disappears. Humans are terrified. Mom is heartbroken.

Penryn drives through the streets of San Francisco looking for Paige. Why are the streets so empty? Where is everybody? Her search leads her into the heart of the angels’ secret plans, where she catches a glimpse of their motivations, and learns the horrifying extent to which the angels are willing to go.

Meanwhile, Raffe hunts for his wings. Without them, he can’t rejoin the angels, can’t take his rightful place as one of their leaders. When faced with recapturing his wings or helping Penryn survive, which will he choose?

Narration is excellent by Caitlin Davies

I'm really enjoying this series, but this 2nd installment got a little slow without one of the main characters for most of the entire book. I feel the characters are paired as a team and as such, the story isn't quite as intriguing with one of them missing. It's still an excellent story, however, and the narration by Davies makes it that much more enjoyable.

Pookie Bear

Would you consider the audio edition of World After to be better than the print version?

I think I would have enjoyed reading this book more than listening to it but either way I like it and will buy it. There several lol moments.

What was one of the most memorable moments of World After?

When she names the most bad ass sword Pookie Bear!!!!!

Which scene was your favorite?

When all the other swords bowed to Pookie Bear!!!

An Exciting Sequel

World After is a satisfying second book. It is exciting, funny, and kept my interest from beginning to end. The tension between the lead characters is charismatic and believable (for a young adult fantasy novel). The author develops the characters in a way that keeps them likable and keeps you rooting for them. Although the book may not appeal to someone looking for a steamy romance, it is acceptable for mid to late teen readers. The narration is excellent, and I am looking forward to the third book. FYI, I read that a movie is in the works for this book trilogy.

Absolutely Amazing

One of my favorite series! And I absolutely love the narrator! It’s a slow burn forbidden romance but that only plays a small part. In reality this is an action pact post apocalyptic book with lovable characters!

Excellent book but gruesome

This series is excellent. I am enjoying it even though it gets very gruesome with the scorpions and demon angels. It comes across as a Christian book but suprisingly there is no mention of God anywhere in the first two books. I am hoping this changes with the third. My feeling is that anyone reading an apocolyptic novel even if it is a novel and not truth, would likely be Christian as this would be the target audience.

But all in all it is an excellent series.

this series is always my go-to series but I want to read a book. I'm so glad I can listen to it now that I'm a lot busier. it never gets dull and it always feels like a movie when you listen.

Boring second installment

Got this (as well as the first installment) for « free » with my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
I really enjoyed the first installment. I am currently halfway through chapter 46. This book is definitely a filler book. It drags on and on and on. I have actually blanked out a few times (that didn’t happen with the first book)
So far, Raffe has only made brief appearances, and are mostly second hand descriptions. Him and his sarcasm are sorely missed. I will finish this, because I am hoping to read more of Prenren and Raffe interacting together.
