He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

When Rachel Hollis began writing the number one New York Times best seller Girl, Wash Your Face, her husband, Dave, bristled at her transparency about her self-deceptions. Then he had a revelation: Women aren't the only ones who believe lies. Both women and men buy into a host of lies that keep them from reaching their potential, often against a backdrop of ingrained ideas about how they should or shouldn't act, how they should or shouldn't reach for help, or how they show up for life.

This is a book for working women and mothers who are ready to release the culturally inherited belief that their worth is equal to their productivity, and instead create a personal and professional life that's based on presence, meaning, and joy. As opposed to focusing on "fitting it all in", time management, and leaning in, as so many books geared at ambitious women do, this book embraces the notion that through doing less women can have - and be - more.

Compelling, useful, and entertaining
This book may be called "Work It Out," but it goes far deeper than just our careers and work. So far, in listening to Mel's deep coaching and takeaways, I have learned that the challenges we face in our work are the same ones we have had throughout our lives. And while listening to each session I can see myself in every single one, and even better -- I get a clear understanding of how it can be changed immediately. This book, like all of Mel's work, stands out from the many "tips" and "hacks" we receive about how to be more productive and successful and instead focuses on how we can spot our subtle missteps and have the life and careers we have always wanted. 5 stars all around.

WOW. This came out yesterday and I’m already almost all the way through. Mel dives deep into the past/stories of each guest and gets to the REAL root of the issue that they are facing. I just love her approach - straight to the point and no BS - but so caring at the same time. I feel so empowered already. Incredible.

SO much useful coaching
I'll be honest. I'm only three sessions in but ALREADY I am blown away by how much I am learning. And just like Mel's last two Audible audiobooks, I somehow seem to relate with every session. I just wish I'd had this book twenty years ago because I would have done things so much differently in my jobs, and definitely while looking for jobs. I have to digest all this stuff but I can't wait to try out the nuggets I've got so far. Thanks, Mel!

Worth the time
Although this isn’t a quick listen (I have very little time these days), I’m giving my review 5 stars! It was chock full of great advice in each segment. Although I resonated most with the last woman, Rachel - I took away helpful information from each of the 5 sessions. Quality advice that will help me as I go out into the world to search for a job after being a stay at home mom for the last 17 years. Thank you, Mel!!! P.S. I love your voice!

Mel at her best!
Listening to these one-on-one coaching sessions is very inspiring. Mel is so good at getting to the heart of the matter and delicately handling her participants' emotions, then succinctly guiding them to the answers they need.. She combines just the right amounts of hand-holding and kick-in-the-ass motivation! Although this audio book is marketed to working women, I think the advice would be helpful to anyone, including stay-at-home parents, who sometimes are juggling more "work" than society likes to acknowledge. Also, the online companion workbook is an added bonus for anyone who wants to roll up her sleeves and use the exercises to course correct.

Much Needed Advice
I listened to 45 minutes at a time on my afternoon commute. I still will go though the workbook. I feel unpacked, and like the workbook is going to cinch up a lot of what I heard and learned. In different ways, I identify with each of these women. Each of the insights were brilliant. I laughed, I cried (like 3 times and during the closing), I FEEL empowered. Mel is funny, gracious, blunt - everything that YOU need to hear that you didn't realize you needed to hear. This may not be THE thing that resolves EVERYTHING you're experiencing, but it's a heck of a good start. Maybe even listen with a friend on a weekly basis and go through your workbooks together.

Excellent listen full of great advice!
Just finished listening to this audiobook. I loved the way Mel structure the book as a interview with real people followed by take aways. This book is full of great advice and tips for women around things that makes such a big difference yet we underestimate or not pay much attention to. Definitely recommend for all womens. I’ll also come back and listen again from time to time as a reminder. Thank you Mel Robbins for great advice and helping women across the world. Cheers, Anjali

Thought provoking stuff
I felt like Mel was talking to me during the coaching sessions. Definitely going to work through the guide and start making more impact at work! Thank you so much much for the insights and tools.
