Strange Narration

This is too difficult to listen to. The narrator speaks like a robot with inhuman speech pattern. It’s painful. I’d rather read this myself. Can I have a refund?!

The message is brilliant but the narration is so monotone that it ends up putting you to sleep.

Stunned

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

You bet! This book has totally changed the way I communicate with others and I feel so much more connected to people. I am deliberately removing the word "no" from my vocabulary and I have chosen the word "calm" as my word. I repeat it over and over at night when I can't sleep sometimes. Just saying the word, spelling it out and repeating it over and over changes my heart beat and changes my thinking.

Mostly the same stuff I've read before

This book could be interesting at times but if you've read other books like this about the brain - it's mainly the same information. What I couldn't believe was the narration! I read reviews about how the narrator's voice was annoying, but I was surprised to find that he almost sounds like he has a speech impediment when he's saying words with the "T" sound. I found that to be annoying and disruptive to listening.

Thought provoking

Enjoyed the books concepts. Narrator was good.
Examples helpful. I'm putting the suggestions into actions. I believe anyone can and should consider the suggestions and apply them to their lives for effective communication.

great stuff. just repetitive

i finished this book in less than a week. very easy to go along with and narrator is good. the book does list important steps to communication and even gives science, studies, and examples to back up it's statements which I like. the book kept me intrigued. I do feel that the book was repetitive however. for ex. the writer will teach you steps to confront a argumentive person the same way maybe 5 times throughout the book - each time taking about 10 min.. I definitely think the book could have been shortened about 3 hours..

Just Awful

I tried hard to like this book but ultimately found no redeeming value. The advice was sometimes ok, often impractical, and occasionally ridiculous. In a nutshell relax, look into the other persons eyes, and speak slowly. That's about it. Please save yourself respect, career and friendships by not following the more outlandish advice this book offers. Better yet, don't buy it at all.
