Another good book in the series

Mac always seems to figure out how to get himself out of the trouble he finds himself in. This book is another good installment I enjoyed listening to. The narrator did another great job as well.

Mac goes international...

Another great adventure...this time Mac washes ashore after his boat explodes...authorities presume that he's dead and he intends to stay that way until he can solve the mystery. Mel is in a coma and close to being declared brain dead...will Mac resurface in time to save her before her corrupt former boss has her taken off life support? This adventure revolves around the fledgling relationship between the US and Cuba and someone willing to sabotage the ferry between Florida and the island to create tension. This book is one of the most intense in the series and keeps you glued to your seat! Fantastic production by the author and narrator.

Great Series

In Wood's Harbor, Mac is still trying to get himself out of the trouble that Trufante got him into in Book 4 Wood's Wreck. This could be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend this series so starting from the beginning would give you the background. This one has Mac waking up on a beach and unsure of the circumstances. His memory returns soon. He soon remembers he's on the lam and why. Mel is in the hospital but still in danger so Mac is not only trying to clear his name, not get caught by the police but also keep Mel safe.

Mac's moral compass seems to be a bit more off in this book than in the previous books but I love flawed hero's. As he's currently wanted by the law, he really doesn't have much of a choice. And as a self professed "shit magnet", Mac is at his best trying to unravel the problems he find's himself in.
I am loving this series and honestly prefer the Mac Travis adventures to Clive Cussler. There's more action in them and the characters are so much more realistic and way more interesting. I use to have almost all of Cussler's Pitt adventures so I'm not knocking his work, I just prefer Becker's writing and his characters.

Paul J. McSorley IS Mac Travis and his Cajun accent for Trufante is sublime. His voice doesn't distract from the story so you can get to that "lost in the story" place without any trouble. I was glad to see he narrates the rest of the Travis adventures as well. Becker and McSorely are a great combination.

Great Book!

Another great book in the series. The narrator does a great job telling the story with the different characters. Mack, Mel, and Tru always seem to get mixed into chaos. I recommend this book to all readers.
