Story
I’m Sorcha McMurphy. I thought magic didn’t exist until I found a stolen dragon hatchling and got a letter of acceptance to a supernatural school for dragon riders. I’m literally flown away to a college that teaches sword fighting, magic casting, and general ass-kicking. Here, the dragon clans are at war, and there’s an evil that threatens to destroy the riders forever. They think I’m the chosen one destined to save the clans, but I’m no hero. If only I could stop myself from loving the cursed guy in my dragon keeping class long enough to save the world.

My name is Melany Richmond, and for my entire life, I’ve been an outcast, an orphan tossed around like a ship in a storm. I don’t think that gods really exist. I never even received my Shadowbox when I turned 18. Maybe, because nobody knows my true birth date or because not even the gods care about me. After all, I'm a blue-haired rebel and a troublemaker with tattoos all over my arms.

For Remi St. James, It started with the blackouts. Then the vivid nightmares. That’s nothing compared to waking up naked, alone in a forest with no recollection of how she got there. Scary as hell, but what she discovers is far worse. Remi was changing into something more - something supernatural. After coming to terms with what she is, Remi starts school at the Gladwell Academy of Shifters, an exclusive and secretive college designed to awaken those with extraordinary abilities. Remi meets Laith Brighton, an impossibly hot, mountain-lion shifter who's also an irresistible jerk.

Do I want to spend my summer with my vicious classmates at Bloodstone University - better known as Villain Academy? No, thank you. But I've got to find a way to tackle my enemies before they try to destroy me again, and the trail to potential answers starts there. I've had it with taking the high road, though. But, when I’m accused of stealing and they’re about to arrest me, the item I took disappears from my hand as if by magic. WTF? Just like that, the Supernatural Academy swoops in and recruits me. But I don’t belong there, and everyone else agrees, including, Rowan Underwood, this rich and annoyingly handsome warlock who has it in for me. He’s investigating the theft of magical artifacts, and he thinks I’m involved.

I'm not so different from most people. Like everyone else, I have life goals. Goal #1: Become a real girl instead of this invisible ghost thing I currently am. Goal #2: Convince the four men I've been haunting for the past five years to pick me to be their new toy after goal one is complete. Goal #3: Figure out who/what I am and why I can't remember anything past the five years I've been haunting this quad. Goal #4: Eat popcorn. See? Perfectly normal. Sort of. Gotta start small, after all. It's not like anyone else is perfect either.

Publisher's Summary
Welcome to Wonderland Academy. Don't lose your head.
Getting into Wonderland Academy is easy:
You must be a little mad.
You must follow the white rabbit.
You must find the key to enter Wonderland.
You must not be named Alice or risk being beheaded by order of the Queen of Hearts.
We might have an issue with that last one.
My name may be Alice, but Wonderland Academy is everything my real life isn't. Who wouldn't want to learn how to ride a jabberwocky, train with a vorpal sword, cast spells using a teacup, or shapeshift into a fairy? As long as no one figures out my real name, I should be fine.
The only problem? Aden, the Queen of Hearts' son, is quickly becoming my best friend. And then there's Corbin. Brooding, surly, tattooed, and definitely not my type, I can't stop thinking about him. But Corbin has secrets of his own, and Wonderland and secrets don't mix.
How I'm going to pass my classes and protect my secret like my life depends on it is beyond me. But I better find a way. Because in Wonderland, no Alice is safe.
Wonderland Academy re-imagines the fantastical world of Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" for a fresh, new adventure. Combining whimsy, magic, and a splash of steampunk, New York Times best-selling author Melanie Karsak invites you into this beautifully re-envisioned fairy tale adventure.

Amazing
This was an amazing retelling of the Alice in Wonderland tale. I loved every moment of it, from the characters to the plot everything was done amazingly. Not to mention the narrator did a fabulous job on this book and its characters.
I really love the world Melanie Karsak created of wonderland and it makes you want to learn more of the land and its creatures that live there. I also love the character development of Alice and all that she faces in wonderland specialy since she has to keep it a secret that she's Alice in the first place.
This book is amazing and I highly recommend it.

Fantastic spin on a world I thought I knew
This story was wonderfully written. It takes us into the world of wonderland and it’s full of adventure, mystery and curiosities. I absolutely adored this story and I can’t wait for the next. And the narrator of this story has a wide range of voices and expressed them in such a way that I can imagine each and every character.

Alice isn't safe, and neither is anyone else
Hide Alice Hide.
After the death of her boyfriend, Lacey Crane gets a restart on love and life after she enters Wonderland academy. There's only one rule for her: Let no one know her real name is Alice.
I blew right through this one!! You get alive and all the wonderful elements of wonderland, but more cohesive and with darker undertones.
Tea is used for battle and spells
Jaberwakeys are friends
Cheshire cats are plotting
Rebellion is brewing
And being a little mad is, if course normal.
The narrator for this audiobook was ASTOUNDING. Really really good. Lots of different voices and emotions from her. I especially her Cheshire cat voice and Una's voice. Those two, particularly, really took the cake!

Wonderful Wonderland Series
This is a wonderful first book in series. I love the refrences to Alice In Wonderland. The characters are quirky and likeable. The world Building is descriptive so it is easy to visualize the story taking place. The narrator is fantastic bringing the story to life with perfect pacing and easy to understand yet distinguishable voices. I look forward to more

not your typical Alice story
This is not your typical Alice story. Once you start reading or listening to this you will be swept away and caught up in the mystery and intrigue surrounding it. I really enjoyed it this version and I promise that no fairies, rabbits or any other magical creatures had a hand with my decision to write this review 😉.
The narrator does an amazing job with the different characters. I really enjoyed listening to her.

We are all a little mad here in Wonderland.
And I love Alice. I probably listened to Christopher Plummer's version of Alice at least a half dozen times growing up though in all fairness it was one of the few audiobooks available in my small town. So I was super excited when I found out about this book.
Alice, who lives in our modern day world and is currently in a mental institution because she see things that isn't there, gets a surprise invitation to attend Wonderland Academy, which she almost misses because well it sounds just a wee bit mad.
Luckily her Nan has already packed her bag and insists that she goes and one tunnel in the floor later she is in Wonderland starting her orientation day at you guessed it Wonderland Academy.
Also can I say the Cheshire CAT!!!
This became the car book with my four daughters (and they all had to be in the car which is why it took us a month to listen to it) as they absolutely loved it and can't wait to find out what happens to Alice next. I also want to add that the narrator for this book was brilliant and did a great job with the various accents of the characters. One of the best YA books I have read this year!

Good!
Alice in Wonderland is really one of my least favorite stories (I know, I know). But.....this author put a unique twist on it and I found it quite enjoyable. I loved Alice, she was just kinda thrown into the academy with no heads up but she handled herself quite well. All the characters were likable except ,of course, those who you love to dislike. Yep, this academy has those too. Fun book!

Wonderful
l was a bit skeptical at first because I didn't really like the sample snippet of audio, but this book was wonderful. It was full of twists and turns and new ways of looking at Wonderland. I found that I even enjoyed the audio sample part when I heard it again in context. I thought Alice's back story was very unique and a modern way to explain her current problems and difficulty accepting what she was seeing. There was more depth to her character than just a curious girl who falls down a rabbit hole. I would definitely recommend this book to other readers.

Truly Magical!
Wonderland Academy doesn't just retell Alice's tale, it creates a magical universe.
Lacey had a tragic loss when Nick died...
She has Corbin and Aiden now, but how will that all end ?

The narrator's skills handled the range of human and magical voices fabulously !

Absolutely loved it,a great adventure.
Well what can I say? First loved the story. Lacey is still traumatised by something bad that happened at her high school. In the first chapter she being released from hospital after a allergic suicide attempt.
She thinks shes going mad as she's seen strange things all her life. Including the man in the top hat when she leaves the hospital.
But what Lacey thought she was imagining is less of a fairy tale than she thinks. She's transported to Wonderland Academy and there you find the familiar characters that are from the Alice in Wonderland stories or are they stories?
The narration was great and I'm normally quite fussy with the narrator doing multiple voices. But I was really impressed with Kristin James and the book flowed beautifully. I received a free copy of this book but the review is my own opinion and I can say I loved it and want to know what happens in the next book in the series. A really good book to listen to.
