Imagine witnessing your mother’s brutal murder. Imagine not being able to remember a single thing about what happened, even though you were there. It doesn’t matter how hard I try: I. Can’t. Remember! I was just a small boy when it happened. I must have tried to defend her because I have the scars that prove it. My wounds should have healed completely. They didn’t. My scars are my constant reminder of what the Moones did...what they took away from us. My mother died in agony. A piece of my father died along with her.

The eligible dragon shifter males must hunt a handful of females. It's first catch, first serve. The biggest problem is that the females are human. Despite feedback to the contrary, Coal thinks they are weak and breakable. In his opinion, not capable of surviving the hunt, let alone the mating that will follow. He doesn't believe that a lowly human is capable of birthing him a royal heir, so why has his brother, the king, tasked him with claiming one?

Holiday romance
This is perhaps the best holiday get-together story I have read. The attraction is real, and so are the regrets. Mistletoe is definitely this couple's "flower." The ending is, of course, a HEA, but still fun.

Too short
This story felt rushed; not much of a storyline. Narrator did a good job with characters. Not really a continuation of previous book. Had real potential but just too short to develop into a great story.
