USA Today best-selling author Aimee Easterling's Wolf Rampant series has racked up over 350 five-star reviews!

Meet Terra Wilder, a shiftless shifter uncomfortable in her own animal skin.

Throw in a healthy helping of Wolfie Young, a bloodling alpha who's more wolf than man.

Mix with a dash of Terra's controlling father and Wolfie's sadistic brother. Then fold in a heaping handful of unconventional outcasts.

The result is a unique werewolf world that has been described as a "good choice for Patricia Briggs fans".

Quintessential urban fantasy fun...

The Wolf Rampant Trilogy audiobook is comprised of Shiftless, Pack Princess, and Alpha Ascendant which follow the adventures of Terra Wilder as she grows from a diffident young girl into a confident and competent werewolf pack alpha. Each book is well-written, fast-paced, and flows smoothly. The stories combine romance, adventure, and a host of likeable characters with suspenseful plots that capture the imagination from start to finish. Loyalties are tested, danger is never out of the picture, and family ties are explored. Follow a most unusual pack of werewolves, halfies, and bloodlings as they weather numerous trials and tribulations in an effort to make a family and a home for themselves and their loved ones in these exciting and gripping stories. If you have read any of Ms. Easterling’s work, you know that the world-building will be excellent, the characters will be engaging, and the adventure will be a wild ride – these stories are no exception.

While this is the complete trilogy, do not despair, the amazing characters and their wonderful world are not forever gone. Thankfully, the author has chosen to continue their stories in other spinoff series allowing us, as readers and listeners, the chance to revisit them at our leisure.

I would be remiss if I did not mention the narrator, Kelly McCall Fumo, who gives an excellent performance throughout the series. She is gifted with a soothing and pleasant voice and she adroitly channels each character’s personality, emotions, and underlying motivations thereby allowing her to give each character a unique and fitting voice. Whether reading and/or listening, this is urban fantasy at its finest.

While I did purchase a copy of each of the books, I was provided with a free audiobook copy of this trilogy by the author and am voluntarily offering this honest and unbiased review.

If you find this review helpful, I would thank you for so indicating.

Good stories, slightly funky audio

The story was good; however the abruptness of linking different audio takes was slightly distracting in book three. Not enough to ruin the experience though, just enough to notice the next clip coming in too soon or another fading out too quick.

Almost painful to finish

Even as a human or ware wolf form, Tara is way too dramatic, way too ditzy, and makes too many poor choices as an “Alpha”. Common sense would have kept her from making so many poor choices. I would not recommend this read.

Good easy read wolf shifter series

Listened to the story on Audible. I had the boxset with all 3 books. Narrator does a good job. She has a nice tone of voice; a little more emotion in her voice would be good, but it’s still a good listen. Good quality recording too; not my favorite narration, but I’d recommend the audio.

I’ll write a quick review with all 3 books in mind for this Audible review, but I wrote longer, more detailed individual reviews for each book as well. You can read those on Amazon if you want more detail.

The writing is good, and I liked the series okay. I liked main character Terra; she’s the only POV we get, so I appreciate that she’s likable and stands up for herself. The romance is sweet, and I liked Wolfie. The romance is too tame for me, but they are cute. This whole series is an easy read with low emotional impact, which is fine if you just want a light read. I would’ve preferred more depth, but I liked it. I’m not a huge fan of how this author writes her wolf shifters, and I wish there was more action and less pack politics. Pack politics is fine, but it’s the main thing through all 3 books, so it gets boring. Especially, when the antiquated ideals of the pack hierarchy/politics aren’t being fought against for positive change. Too much going with the status quo, but I appreciate that Terra tries. This whole series is about Terra trying to find her way in the shifter world and with her pack. Overall, I’d say this whole series is a 3.5; book 1 was the best for me.

I enjoyed the humor that was included into the story making the reading much more enjoyable.

Weak protagonist

I found the main protagonist to be weak, selfish and none too bright. She gets routinely rescued by her partner but it’s hard to understand why he would bother. For example she’s so worried about her mate’s dominance that she allows her needs to endanger her pack. I won’t give specifics so as to avoid spoilers. Anyway, I think this the first time I hoped someone would rip out the throat of a lead “good” character but I just didn’t like her at all.

Predictable and cringe inducing.

I listen to a lot of audiobooks. They get me through work. Some I listen to multiple times, as they are just fun enough to keep my attention. This...err...trilogy does not do that. I tried to keep up with it, but with over 12 hours LEFT to go in it, I am giving up. I can't tell if it is the narration or the story itself. There is a fair bit of eye-rolling-ly obvious stuff going on.
The 5 star readers are likely 12-14 year olds that find this sort of story entertaining, but fair warning, it is cheesy af.

Spoilerly ahead:

When she meets the guy and the wolf in the shop. Automatically you know that even though she likes the mild-mannered dude, she is going to be all over the wolf at some point. He is going to be just like my dad! Oh wait, he is kind and caring and blah blah blahhhh. What a shocking turn of events! I will not finish this series, but I have a feeling I know pretty much what will end up happening. She or the boy will get taken by the dad. There will be a rescue mission. The "nicedreamyermergerdhawtnstuff" alpha will go to get her. There will be a fight. One will get hurt and then 1 of a few things will happen. The MC will choose to intervene and save her man. Her man will save her last minute. Or as a "twist" the boy will somehow do a thing and save them all last minute. It will be epic. Tears will be shed, but even though they are still in hostile territory and someone is likely badly hurt, there will be a 10 minutes long awful make out session with declarations of undying love. Or not, I don't know and I won't know. Returning this mess. :/

A great novel about love, power and freedom.

Not the typical steamy revageing sex novel with wolves but a great story all arou d and you really real you are in the story. you will become Cheff Wilder with your own inner wolf that comes alive.
