Into the future and back in the past

I’ve listened to or read other books in this series but this is my second audiobook by Donna Weaver in this series. Many of the books in this series can be read out of order. But make sure that you read Against the Magic before this one. This is the story of Gareth that we meet in Donna’s previous book. He gets his own love story. He decides to go to the future to see what it is like. After meeting Reese in the previous book he is curious about this future land. He meets Catherine. They each have experienced the loss of a spouse and child. They develop feeling s for each other. Gareth knows he can’t stay in the future has he has responsibilities in his time. But Catherine doesn’t know how she can give up her medical career. This is a sweet, clean, love story.

Gareth gets his happy ending

Gareth Hildebrand (who lives in 1850) met and fell in love with a woman from the future at Twickenham Manor, but she chose someone else and went back to her time. He's fascinated with what it must be like in the future and talks Aunt Nellie into painting his portrait so he will be able to travel in time.

Dr. Catherine Ryan (in the present time) attends the monthly balls at Twickenham Manor, where she seems quite taken with a painting of Gareth Hildebrand. Aunt Nellie arranges for Catherine to be a "guide" for a "friend" she has coming for a visit.

When Gareth meets Catherine she reminds him of Reese, the woman he'd fallen in love with who had visited Twickenham Manor back in his time. He's amazed at the clothing, cars, and noise in the present time, but the attack at the cafe shows him that the present also has its drawbacks. Catherine has feelings for Gareth but knows she couldn't be a doctor in his time. Aunt Nellie keeps telling them they have to work with the magic, but what does that mean?

This is the third book I've read in the series, but the first where the man chooses to go to the future to be with the women he's fallen for. Gareth was in Against the Magic and now he gets his own story and happy ending. I loved Gareth's reaction to jeans and zippers, and women showing their legs. I didn't see how these two would work things out because he still had responsibilities in his time and she loved being an ER doctor and helping people, which she wouldn't be able to do in 1850. They were torn between two different times. I really enjoy these time travel romances.

This is a clean romance.

Magical

I enjoyed this magical story. Twickenham Manor is a time travel portal. When an English earl decides to go to the future and meets a lovely doctor it seems he has found someone to love again. When she goes back in time with him she will struggle with staying or going. Being a modern, stubborn doctor, some friends, magic and the earl need to convince her that thebpaatbis her future. I received a complimentary audio and this review is voluntary.

Forward and back in time

Everyone need a Fae Aunt. As people slip back
and forward in time both bring unexpected difficulties and the effects on their hearts make decisions for their futures extremely difficult. Finding the right mix makes a ferry fun and interesting tale. Great story and presented well by Kathleen Corbin. I look forward to more in this series.

Wonderfully Magic

I loved the story with all the magic a romantic would love. The narrator did a wonderful enchanting job as she read to me. Sweeping me away.
