The Best Summer Camp Slasher You Never Saw

When I like a book, I leave a good review. When I LOVE a book, I put it in my "re-read list", where it becomes the literary equivalent to a favorite movie.

And when I REALLY love a book, I get it in other formats... Audiobooks, graphic novels, etc... to enjoy on different levels.

"With Friends Like These" is one of those stories in the last category. It easily landed in the top 10 books I read last year, and though I read it initially on Kindle unlimited I had to get my own copy because I knew that this book had a high re-readability potential.

When I found out it was becoming available on audiobook, I had to get it! I had read one of Ms Lawrence's other titles, '80s ghosts, as an immersive read on both ebook and audiobook before I read this novel, so I knew it was going to be well worth it.

This is a superb adaptation! Casey Montgomery's narration is gripping and immersive, bringing each character to life in a performance that is darn near cinematic! It blends perfectly with VS Lawrence's flawless adaptation of common 80s horror movie tropes to create a story that is both familiar and completely original.

This is the perfect story to listen to on a hot summer night by candlelight as crickets and the sounds of the evening provide a backdrop to the best summer camp slasher movie you never got to see. Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
