Publisher's Summary

A paranormal women’s fiction with a bit of class, and a lot of sass, for anyone who feels like age is just a number!

Joy Lansing is at a crossroads. Her kids have all flown the nest and just when she thought she was going to spend her golden years with her husband of 30 years, she finds herself single again and looking to rebuild a life she no longer recognizes.

Lucky for Joy, she has her three besties and her coven by her side. Because she’s going to need them when she lands a movie role and finds herself hexed by a jealous co-star. Finding yourself a minor film star at the age of 48 is more than a little overwhelming. But when it comes with bad press and a hot celebrity determined to date her, Joy is in way in over her head. She’s going to need all her magic to navigate this one before her new career is over before it starts.

Least Favorite so Far

Thought plot was predictable, Petty girls bickering like junior high girls, Joy acting? Kid problems, ex husband problems, just all to cliche' for me.

Will not re-listen to this book again, and will have to give so serious thought to continuing this series, Really too bad, I loved Grace's story, Hope's, not as much, but this one was not good at all.

Gabra Zackman did a great job, as always.

This is such a great book!

This is such a great book to read and even better to listen to. Gabra Zackman does an awesome job narrating this.
The series is so much fun and so interesting and this book was no exception. There was lots of intrigue and lots of romance! I absolutely loved Joy and Troy together! The interaction with Joy's kids was too cool!! There's nothing like the relationship a parent has with their adult children. That's one of the things I love about this series.. it's about midlife.. and how things get even better!!

WOW!!

Joy, the quiet one.

I have enjoyed Witching for Grace and Witching for Hope, but, Deanna Chase took Witching for Joy to another level!! Who would believe a 48 year old Mom could fulfill a dream and get into so much chaos at the same time!!

You will not be disappointed with Joy’s story, but, you really should listen to Grace & Hope’s stories first!! All 3 are fantastic and I am looking forward to the next one, Witching for Clarity!!

Far Fetched Mean Girl Movie Magic Meh

Having enjoyed the romantic, mildly magical, melodrama of the first two volumes (the second being stronger than the first) I was disappointed in this volume. The whole premise of the tale felt odd, Joy after one set of pictures becomes a middle aged model and then is picked up as an actress in a major film. I felt confused listening to Joy vacillate between saying acting was her lifelong dream while at times saying it would be no big deal for her to leave and never pick it up again especially with the trouble it causes her family. There was almost no romantic story building with Joy and Troy, perhaps 2 chapters worth of the 24 even devoting time to the pair together in story, yet broad statements are made about their deep connection and understanding of one another which felt so forced and fake given that Troy was not even present in 80% of the story. There was way too many plot lines trying to be stuffed in, constant mean girl issues on movie set that felt over the top and the audience catching things days before the protagonist. There is a kidnapping. There are family issues on every front with sexual identities trying to be flushed out. Paparazzi hounding. Police harassment. Very confusing sprinkles of Joy possibly developing some new magical powers without really any time to explore this or delve into this. At this point there is a question of why are all the women in this coven developing new previously unknown magical powers in mid-life, is this because of their coven or because of the location, are other witches in town developing powers and how many witches in town are there? This also becomes a struggle with series where magic gets both thrown around as totally normal and available like purchasing aspirin while at other times seeming like it is really hard to access when folks need resolution and help-makes the magic feel more prop like than integrated aspect of the world. The story felt very jumbled and lacking the fun and depth of the previous two stories. I almost felt this book was more about Joy running around exploring the character development of all the secondary characters more than a narrative about her and Troy. More time was devoted to exploring Gigi (actual name Clarity) and Sebastian's love interest which is what the last chapter from Gigi's POV does to set up for the next volume 'Witching for Clarity' but honestly they talked about the pair throughout the book and had equal story time practically to Joy and Troy. Overall it just appears this book was more a bridge to setting up what will clearly be eventual new coven members and filling in details about secondary characters in this town and not about getting to know Joy. This doesn't have to be a bad thing, but just felt like a disappointment after the first two volumes. I will be continuing to the series and hope that it returns to some of the earlier style in the series.

Love it

Deanna Chase has created a wonderful world that I’d love to visit. The characters are well developed and quickly seem to be ore like friends.
Gabra Zackman has given a beautiful performance that spectacularly brought it all to life.
I’m anxiously awaiting the next installment.

Joy and Troy

With three kids no longer in the picture and newly single after 30 years of marriage, Joy wants an adventure. Seeing an up and coming photographer, Troy, Joy is exploring her modeling/acting side. Landing a movie role is a dream come true, that is until a costar places a hex on you. Spiraling out of control with Troy, he costar, family and premonitions. Joy will need all the help she can get from her fellow coven members. The story is crazy, chaotic and all that makes Deanna's stories unique. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Witching for Joy.

Absolutely love Premonition Pointe!

Book 3 in the Premonition Pointe series is an excellent addition to an already fabulous series. This book follows Boy's exploits following her divorce and new acting career. Deanna Chase writes a brilliant story. You actually feel the brutality that being in the public eye can bring. You gotta love the strong women she creates. Gabra Zackman is an exceptional narrator, she has the ability, just through her voice, to make you know which character is speaking or thinking at any moment. An overall enjoyable read, or listen!

Wonderful story

I loved this story. Each installment of this series has been good, but I really loved the mystery woven in this story. And I love to have someone to hate. This book has it all.

I loved it!

So far, this is my favorite in the Premonition Pointe series. I loved reading about Joy and was in happy tears by the end. Gabra Zackman does a fantastic job narrating, too! I cannot wait to listen to the next book!

Loved this book!

Third times a charm! The Premonition Point stories continue with Joy. Newly divorced, Joy is embarking on a new career as an actress. Breaking into the business in her late 40's is quite an achievement for Joy, however it's not all fun and games.
Everything that could go wrong, does. However, Joy has a new man in her life, her kids and her coven sisters to get her through.
A little bit of mystery and a little bit of paranormal makes this story worth the read (or listen lol!)
Gabra Zackman is a wonderful narrator.
I highly recommend!

A story full of Joy

Book 3 in the series. This is Joys story. Deanna knows how to write stories that are heartfelt. The characters, the females are strong, and no matter what they go through they always rise to the top.

Joy is going through a divorce, her husband wants out right awake. The divorce awakens something in Joy. She wants to start something new , to become an actor. She realizes that even though her husband left her it’s not the end of the world . While going through life changes she meets a man that fathers her interest . If it’s not one thing in Joys life it’s another, her grown children decide to move back home with her. Why ?
Joy is filled with happiness and realizes that everything that she went through was for a reason

Gabra Zackman Is a fantastic performer. Her voice is calm , strong and smooth. She will draw you into the story.

Excellent

I really like this series. Yes, it has a paranormal aspect but the main storyline is about things women have to deal with midlife. Joy’s story finds her dealing with a single status, a new career, the challenges of being a parent to adult children, dealing with an ex and not so nice people, and finding love. I admire Joy and how she handles everything in stride and with poise. Well written! The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the story to life! I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I loved Joy's story!!!

I have enjoyed all of the Preminition Point stories so far and Joy's was no exception. The mystery along with romance and finding yourself was absolutely amazing. Such a heartwarming and enjoyable story.
