When Nicholas James draws Stephanie Martin's name in their law firm's Secret Santa exchange he knows he's in for a merry Christmas - if he can figure out what to give the woman he's wanted for months. When he works late and finds a crumpled piece of paper listing Steph's personal wish list, he knows he's in luck. Because all Steph wants for Christmas is him, in a number of naughty ways. Quickie should have gone for Rom-Com

This 1 hr novella about Nick finding Stephanie’s naughty sex-wish list should have been sexy, sassy, and swift. Yes, Day’s trademark style of explicit nooky brought sex quickly and often. But, it happened so fast, there was no chance to develop chemistry. Then, instead of following up the sex with fun banter or comedic consequences of an attorney-attorney workplace romance, the short story gets overrun with angst (her past problems with guys who couldn’t commit), drama (unnecessary complication of single parenting), and sappy (non-credible professions of insta love). Wrap all of that with a slow, dignified, matronly sounding narrator and I was left with coal in my Christmas stocking. Even for free, even bumped to 1.4x, this wasn’t worth the listen.

Brilliant

If you could sum up Wish List in three words, what would they be?

Perfect for Christmas

Any additional comments?

This short story was outrageously, shockingly perfect. It will definitely get you in a festive mood for the holidays!

Day’s Christmas tale is ridiculously captivating. She uses extremely vivid descriptions to draw you further and further into this tale. The narrator does a brilliant job with this tale. She heightens the story to an extent that you can’t help but love it. She takes the very vivid, brilliant descriptions that Day has set forth and makes them pop.

The main characters are very well developed for a novella. You come to know and love them. The way that they interact with each other and with the supporting cast allows you to know them on an even deeper level.

Overall, this was a brilliant, heart-warming tale that automatically puts you in the Christmas spirit. It’s a quick short read (or listen) that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Cringe ... Eye Roll ... Horrible

Seriously... Don't! The sex wasn't even that hot ... Not worth a penny and I am a huge Sylvia Day fan. Narrator was AWESOME! Just bad material to work with.

Poor voices

I like the book but after hearing the voice that is used for the guy in the book it was just awful. Couldn’t listen to anymore only got to chapter 1. Lost all interested once I heard the voice she used for the guy. Awful!

Not for Me!

I only listened to this in order to complete the Audible Escape Category Challenge. Thank goodness it was short. This is definitely NOT my type of book.

Short

This is a short story about a woman whom writes a naughty wish list with the intention of no one ever reading it. When the object of that list finds it, they are in for a very hot holiday.
