Looking for an exciting story for the whole family to share? Looking for a Jurassic Park type adventure that's family friendly? Winslow Hoffner's Incredible Encounters really are incredible... and fun. I listened on audible and the author narrates the story and portrays all the characters. Great for a road trip for the whole family. Highly recommend this adventure for boys and girls of all ages.

Great, fun read!

Michael, the author and narrator, has created a fun and interesting world with memorable characters. His in-depth research shows through with actual cryptids that I'd never heard of, and tying them into a created world of intrigue and amusing personalities. His character voices and accents are very individualistic and well performed, keeping me looking forward to pressing play ASAP.

I've read everything this young author has written, met him at conventions, and encourage others to do the same. This guy is as charismatic as his books, and I look forward to his next book!

A Fantastic Adventure

This is not my usual genre, so this was a bit of a palate cleanser for me, but this was a short extremely well-written tale with excellent mystery, adventure, and humor. This probably falls into a young adult category, but people of all ages will enjoy Thompson’s work. The characters were well-drawn and vibrant just like each of the cryptids introduced as the novel went along. I felt as if I was on a leaky boat with Hoffner, rocking in the seas, salt hanging in the air as we tracked down monsters or creatures of the deep with our venerable hero. Thompson does the narration himself and has a fantastic range as a voice actor with several well done accents - Scottish, Irish, Old fisherman…I have no critiques for his work a solid 5/5.

light-hearted, humorous and fun to read

This was my first "cryptid" book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This young author, who also recorded this audio version, did a great job of bringing the characters to life with both the spoken and written word. The book is light-hearted and humorous and consists of a series of encounters with diverse marine cryptids. It kept my interest and I finished it in one afternoon while concurrently doing mindless chores.

Excellent Storytelling

Michael Thompson has created a wonderful, colorful, imaginative world in Winslow Hoffner's Incredible Encounters. Each chapter is an entertaining blend of characters and story centered around a different cryptid each time. Thompson's descriptions are detailed and thematic, and his narration of the tales makes them truly immersive. A well done collection!

Fun, humorous adventure

This book was so much fun. The author (who also narrated the book) did a fantastic job of bringing his characters to life. I laughed out loud several times while listening and found the smaller stories wove together nicely into one larger tale.
