Publisher's summary

I should have known it was too good to last.

The phoenix realm is doing fine without me, and Miami’s home again for the time being. Kit and Angela are planning a wedding, and Thane and I are happy. Using the stone should have been the end of all the bad news.

Except in my life, the bad news never ends.

When Ivan shows up near death, he describes dark shadows raining destruction on my people from above. I know it’s time for me to return. Patience is most definitely not one of my virtues, but everyone seems convinced I’ll do something reckless if we don’t wait for more information first.

They know me too well.

An unexpected opportunity to return falls into my lap, and I take it. Apologies can come later.

But as things go from bad to worse, I just hope I live long enough for Thane to forgive me.

Great book!

Love where this storyline is going still! Veronica is by far one of my favorite characters of all time. I like how “real” these books feel. There is some “spice”, and “bad words”, so I would recommend for an older audience.

There be DRAGONS

Veronica & Thane are finally together, but that doesn’t mean the threats are gone. Veronica needs to return, but her impulsiveness lands her with the dragons, will this be her end or can she bring peace & find the real villain?

Love this series

This series just keeps getting better. Veronica is back in the human realm, enjoying her mating to Thane, when Ivan shows up hurt and near death. Veronica will do anything to get back to her homeland and save her people, even making a deal with the last person she expected. Quickly, Veronica realizes why her friends think she’s so impulsive when she finds herself in another unfortunate situation.

predicament

another great listen. Veronica finds herself in a predicament where she was promised to the dragons (well one of her bloodline anyway).

Dragons!! Plus V and Thane (getting steamy!!)

Another great story from Stephanie Mirro! The penultimate book in The Last Phoenix series and she starts it off nicely with some spice from Veronica and Thane.
This book was one story that once I started I couldn't stop because I had to know what would happen!
Veronica is still as impulsive as ever (yes, you will roll your eyes at that, but keep on reading/listening, it's still a great story) she gets to learn so much more about herself! V starts off a little rocky, with her usual impulsiveness taking front stage while you smack your own forehead (I do hope she actually learns better in the next book). She manages to get herself in a unique predicament and does her best to survive.
Thane gets some chapters of his own in this book and I'd have liked more scenes from his perspective because I always love multiple POVs in stories! He does a good job understanding his mate and seeing things from her perspective.
I loved the introduction to the dragons! They are interesting characters and I loved the twists and turns with plot involving them. They added such a nice twists to the series.
I look forward to the last book, but I'm also sad that there is only one book left in the series.

There is swearing, steam, violence, and implies SA in this book. I would have preferred if the author handled the implied SA a little better, but I can understand how she included it how she did.

This book is the sixth in the series; you must read/listen to the previous five in chronological order in order to understand this series.

I love Johanna Roddy narrating this series! She always does a fantastic job! (I do hope she's available for the next book!) She gives each character a unique voice that you can pretty easily identify and she differentiates her male and female voices well. I loved her performances as both Thane and Veronica!
