Publisher's Summary

Dante was there when the sun went out.

Trapped in a skyscraper at the end of the world, he was there as winds swept the planet and a sunless world cooled.

But the apocalypse wasn’t entirely unexpected. Joining up with the survivors as ice coated the planet, Dante must struggle to survive in a cold new world.

But as they explore the tower and scavenge for supplies, they soon discover the weather isn’t the only problem. The expected bodies aren’t there...

...and something’s moving in the dark.

a wonderful pair up

great world building that was perfectly displayed, though not often enough but no doubt more will be revealed next book. only complaint of the story is that it ended too soon. the narrator was well suited to the story and performed great.

A cool book. Get it? ‘Cool’ ...sorry

Good start to a promising series. Had a little trouble getting into the first chapter but was completely drawn in shortly after. It’s a great post apocalyptic story with smart characters and some unique monsters. The narrator is a great pick for this story and his performance really give a lot of life to it. Would definitely recommend.

A great story to chill out to

This story had me and it's icy grip early on and definitely kept itself frosty, in all honesty both the story and the narration were fantastic and I'm already downloading book 2!

keep it up!

Book One

Excellent first book from Alex Lee and very good narrative from Christian Gilliland. The book featured a similar yet different post apocalypse setting with suspense around the corner of what would happen next!
I would recommend this book to my friends.

An alien apocalypse

Too much of an alien turn and takes place too far in the future for me. Not my cup of tea but not bad.

Enjoyed it enough.

I enjoyed what I heard but it feels like it stopped midway a book. You don’t know enough of what is going on even after finishing it.

Good but not great

Two stories and both dropping off the cliff and no real to connect the two but through the dates and times. Both stories would have been good if they can more of a common theme more than something blocking the sun and hug monsters and glow snakes.
So I do not reccomend this book

Frozen Earth who can survive

This was a fast pace story with a fast freezing of the planet and people being stuck at work and other places. The only issue while searching for food is there is no bodies anywhere and the freeze came on so fast there should be bodies but where are they and what happen to the sun. You live the story from the start day by day and find there was a group who knew this was going to happen but they were caught off guard and prepared and billions of people died. And when they do get things working to save what can they soon find there is aliens who has invaded earth and now they must find a way to survive and try to get their planet back but can they?

Winds of Darkness 5*

I like a good apocalypse and this was a good one and I really enjoyed it.

An ice age an alien invasion and secret government organisation what more could you want.
It's cold outside and there's something hiding in the dark.
While not an action-packed story it certainly had a lot of tension the edge of your seat kind you're always wondering what's going to happen next.

I can't wait for the next book.

Really enjoyed this book!

Something completely new, a great post apoc/sci-fi mix. I thought the characters were well written and the story performed well.

A good setup!

This audiobook was a fun listen. It took a bit of getting used to at first, because of all the fleshing out and setup that's required.
I really liked the idea and premise behind this story. It sets the stage very well for future books, however at many times I felt like there was too much padding and not much development to the grand scheme of the story or pushing the characters forward. The bites of delicious narrative pieces felt too far apart, but when it got somewhere it felt really good.

Christian did a good job with narrating. I liked his inflections, delivery and narration style. My only complaint is that it felt the editing was too tight together at times to push the story forward without letting the audience digest what's going on or what just happened. I'd recommend going forward to pace yourself a bit more and let listeners really feel what's going on, at times it felt like you're trying to finish a marathon rather than telling a good story.

Overall it was a nice short listen. The story was fun although it felt padded at times, but I enjoyed it. I recieved this audiobook for free in exchange for my own honest review. I left this review voluntarily of my own accord.

I would recommend this audiobook.
