Publisher's summary

From the New York Times best-selling author and top pollster Dr. Frank Luntz comes an unprecedented examination of communication excellence and how top performers win in all areas of human endeavor through superb communication skills. From Mike Bloomberg and Arnold Schwarzenegger to business icons Rupert Murdoch, Steve Wynn, and Fred Smith, to the CEOs of MGM Resorts, J. Crew, and Gibson Guitar, to legendary sports superstars like Larry Bird, Jimmy Connors, and Mike Richter, to media legends Roger Ailes, Don Imus, and dozens more, Luntz tells their stories in their own words. He demonstrates how their style of operation and communication is absolutely essential to their success. Luntz makes it clear that following the rules of effective communication is indispensable in any successful human endeavor.

Dr. Luntz offers more than 70 new “words that work” for private one-on-one meetings with your boss, for public presentations to hundreds of colleagues, or for television appearances that reach millions. There are more than three dozen specific lessons and recommendations—and each one directly illustrates the nine essential action-oriented principles of winning at every level: People-Centered, Paradigm-Breaking, Prioritizing, Perfection, Partnerships, Passion, Persuasion, Persistence, and Principles.

Do you have what it takes? Win is an unprecedented examination of the art, science, and language of winning, and a must-have for people who want to understand and emulate the winners of today.

The definition of winning:

  • The ability to grasp the human dimension of every situation
  • The ability to know what questions to ask and when to ask them
  • The ability to see what doesn’t yet exist and bring it to life
  • The ability to see the challenge, and the solution, from every angle
  • The ability to distinguish the essential from the important

Awesome! I like learning about HOW others WIN!

Would you consider the audio edition of Win: The Key Principles to Take Your Business from Ordinary to Extraordinary to be better than the print version?

The audio edition was great for me because I have more time for listening to books than reading them.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Win: The Key Principles to Take Your Business from Ordinary to Extraordinary?

I liked how the author, Frank Luntz, was very honest about his own challenges. Challenges with perfection.

Have you listened to any of L. J. Ganser’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but L.J. Ganser's was very good. Easy & clear to understand. Excellent!

What did you learn from Win: The Key Principles to Take Your Business from Ordinary to Extraordinary that you would use in your daily life?

I felt encouraged to hold on to my dreams & once again to STAY FOCUSED! Also, I learned to be sure to stay open to ideas that winners share. Winners do help others in a variety of ways. Just as all of us should. Even if it is just by a simple introduction.

Any additional comments?

Moral Standards That Lead To True Success

The author comes with the facts using his values to present a superb source of information. From his success to about 2 dozen other influential people he was able to interview . Easy to listen to and understand and was never once bored or hoping for it to end .

What a book!!!

As an Amway IBO on the LTD team, I was able to experience Frank Luntz first hand at the event he discussed in this book! His incredible ability to engage the audience was what drew me to his book. If you are looking for the keys to success this book is your destination!!! I finished this audiobook in a week, driving to and from work through traffic. Not only did it put me in a bubble of positive thinking among the sharks on the freeway. It also gave me a concrete path to follow! Thank Frank!

This is better than I expected

Frank pushed this book hard on Fox News and I thought if it is half as good as he claims I would be in for a real treat.

As it turns out it was as good as he said it was, and I really enjoyed it. This book was inspirational, well organized, entertaining and rarely political, which is what I was expecting more of.

If you read this Frank, keep up the good work, and get this book into more Conservative Candidates hands before 2012...

Not his best, but good

Luntz is a genius. All his books are valuable, but this is the weakest one. The product placement is a bit too obvious and seems forced. I get that he wants to support his clients, but I began to wonder if they paid him to do it here. If you've never read his other books, you'll like this one. If you have read his others you'll still like it, but you'll be a little disappointed.

Good Reading

Excellent voice quality, I am sure the audience woulld ove the voice quality, modulation, pitching and interest the author and speaker. Some chapters are really exciting, overall enough to keep the listener engaged through and through till last chapter.

Instructs and Inspires

This is a book I know I will have to go through again and again to really gain half of the wisdom from it. Luntz not only clearly lays out the characteristics of a winner though engaging stories, but he also gives practical advice to help winners reach their goals.

Nothing new but I am sure it could work

Not a bad book, but nothing special. Frank Luntz politics comes through which isn't welcome but nothing radical. He does not really add anything new except a few insights to what is actually important to the public which does not match what business or politicians think. Of course follow all the good attributes and you should reach the top and be a good person at it. Who knows, it is all speculations and at the end of the day I suppose follow his ideas can't hurt too much.
