Publisher's Summary

Sometimes going back is the best way to start over....

Candy shop owner Charlotte Caine knows temptation. To reboot her life, shed weight, and gain perspective, she's passing up sweet enticements left and right. But willpower doesn't come so easily when hell-raiser Spencer Gregory comes back to Hope's Crossing, bringing with him memories of broken promises and teen angst. A retired pro baseball player on the mend from injury - and a damaging scandal - he's interested in his own brand of reinvention.

Now everything about Spencer's new-and-improved lifestyle, from his mission to build a rehab facility for injured veterans to his clear devotion to his preteen daughter, Peyton, touches Charlotte's heart. Holding on to past hurt is her only protection against falling for him - again. But if she takes the risk, will she find in Spencer a hometown heartbreaker, or the hero she's always wanted?

Sugar Rush

Willowleaf Lane is Charlotte's story, owner of the candy shop Sugar Rush and successful dieter who lost 80 pounds.

While I empathized with the theme of a determined women who overcame an unhealthy food addiction, I was slightly annoyed when Charlotte was only identified by how fat she once was or how much weight she managed to keep off.

More than her current jean size, I thought Charlotte was amazing due to her huge heart and willingness to help a mother-less young girl who needed a strong, confident role model.

Enjoyed story

Narrator was way too robotic and monotone! Narrator could have read with more feeling than she did.

Rabid reader

She is really great at handling hard issues that many of us have had, or have friends that have needed our ears and compassion. All of this weaved with an endearing town of intertwined characters, that progress and interact through the series! Well written!

Good story, bad narration.

I like the narrators voice. However, she isn’t good at inflections and all her voices are deadpan and have no emotion. Good story if you’re busy and want something on in the background.

sweet romance that will capture readers hearts

RaeAnne Thane created a story that was interesting and unique. There is only one hotish scene and it didn't go into details, so not an erotica.

Nice to see weight issues mentioned

Previous reviews stated they didn’t like the weight disorders mentioned so much but I disagree I felt it was nice to read a book where this was addressed as so many people today face this issue.

Loved the book.
