A magical serial killer is on the loose, and gelatinous, otherworldly creatures are infesting the English countryside. Which is making life for the Ministry of Occultism difficult, because magic is supposed to be their best kept secret. After centuries in the shadows, the Ministry is forced to unmask, exposing the country's magical history - and magical citizens - to a brave new world of social media, government scrutiny, and public relations.

In a world full to bursting with would-be heroes, Jim couldn't be less interested in saving the day. His fireballs fizzle. He's awfully grumpy. Plus, he's been dead for about sixty years. When a renegade necromancer wrenches him from eternal slumber and into a world gone terribly, bizarrely wrong, all Jim wants is to find a way to die properly, once and for all. On his side, he's got a few shambling corpses, an inept thief, and a powerful death wish. But he's up against tough odds....

Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

Publisher's Summary
The hero of Will Save the Galaxy for Cash returns to do what he does best. Which is - what again, exactly?
With the age of heroic star pilots and galactic villains completely killed by quantum teleportation, the ex-star pilot currently named Dashford Pierce is struggling to find his identity in a changing universe.
Then, a face from his past returns and makes him an offer he can't refuse: take part in just one teeny weeny, slightly illegal, daring heist, and not only will he have the means to start the new life he craves, but also save his childhood hero from certain death.
How hard could that be? If you need to ask - you don’t know Dashford Pierce.
Before long, Pierce is surrounded by peril, and forced to partner with the very same supervillains he'd spent his heroic career thwarting. But when he's confronted by the uncomfortable truth that star pilots might not have been the force for good they had intended to be, he begins to wonder if the villains hadn't had the right idea all along....

Will write review for third book
When I first began listening to “Will save the galaxy for food” some years ago, I believed it to be a standalone book. A good book with a good ending that seemed to wrap things up. So I was surprised when “Will destroy the Galaxy for Cash” popped up on my radar.
I was concerned one of my favorite authors may have “sold out” as it were, writing a sequel simply because the first had sold well, or because fans had pressured him. So when the story immediately dragged me in, I was somewhat surprised. More so as the book began throwing new hooks left and right, shaking up what we knew of our main character without ever making it seem forced or fake.
My biggest critique of the book is that now I know that there is another book coming after this one, and I’m impatient for Yahtzee’s two year writing cycle to complete once more so I can see what comes next.

Amazing again
Another outstanding audio book from a master story teller. This book is laugh out loud funny. Croshaw's mastery of simile and metaphor shines brightly again. The story is another wild ride through this crazy universe and I cant get enough of it. Dare I say, Yahtzee Croshaw is the Douglas Adams for a new generation.
Yahtzee Croshaw is definitely now on my auto-buy list. That exclusive list in my head of authors where if I see a new book out by them on audible I buy it, I don't read the synopsis or any reviews, its just add to cart and purchase.

Yahtzee has evolved so much as an author.
While I like all of Yahtzee's books, this one has got to be his best. It flows, it has copious amounts of hilarious characters, great moments, exciting developments and a fantastic universe I don't want to leave. I hope this turns into atleast a trilogy, and if not, I'm pretty sure in saying that whatever Yahtzee's next book will be, it will be fantastic. He's on a winning streak.

Extremly Funny And Worth the Credit
Will Destroy the Galaxy for Cash is an excellent follow up to Will Save the Galaxy for Food. Having read Croshaw's other works, this one really stands out to me as being one of the funnier entries. The nameless protagonist must take up the mantle of Jacques McKeown once again, and suffer through insufferable fans, reformed villains, and passive-aggressive psychopaths. Yathzee's caustic wit is on full display here with multiple one-liners that made me pause the recording because I was laughing so hard. I particularly liked the Jacques McCon scenes as they reminded me of the hijinks you might see in a Terry Pratchet novel. Croshaw does an excellent job of narrating the main characters. Each has a distinctive pitch and cadence that you might expect from professional voice actors. It really emphasizes the dry wit of the author, and makes it easy to tell who is talking. I will definitely be re-reading this in the future.

Great story that takes the McKeown saga (as labeled by Yahtzee Croshaw) in a completely different direction from the first book. Interesting themes, great villain and shocking ending, that all in all makes me wish I could read/listen to the third book right now. Amazing work.

7 Chapters of this narrator were all I could stand
There's a good reason that professional narrators should be employed to perform audiobooks. I tried to give this book a chance but the whiny pitch of the reader and rapid delivery were just too annoying. I slowed the narration speed hoping to deepen the voice and improve the listening experience but it didn't help. I managed 7 chapters under sufferance and gave up. I always finish books even if I'm not overly keen on the storyline so I tried a second time and within minutes had to delete the book from my device.

Plying Brilliant
I thoroughly enjoyed the first instalment of the Jacques McKeown story and was thrilled to dive into the next chapter. The new characters were great but I felt like they weren’t quite as fleshed out as before so didn’t invest quite so much in them - particularly the big bad. However, Yahtzee’s trademark spleen still consistently delivers laughs and whilst some of the twists were pretty easy to spot the story was solid.
My one complaint about Yahtzee’s writing is he does tend to overuse metaphors. But this is a minor gripe and doesn’t detract from the overall enjoyment.
And I still plying love the mathematical swears.

I've enjoyed listening to the sarcastic tones of Yhatzee since I found zero punctuation. His writing and narration is almost as good as his ability to shit all over video games.

I've been reading Yahtzee's books since Jam and this book shows how far he's come in both story telling and performance. There will be a part 3 and I for one can't wait. Keep up the good work Yahtz.

A new favourite series
Really enjoyed both this and the first entry in this series. After stumbling upon it via the recommendations from other audiobooks, I really enjoyed these very dry, very funny stories that follow the exploits of a washed up star pilot equal parts Zapp Brannigan and Dave Lister. Can't wait for the next one.

It really good you should listing to it if your a fan of the original
Just like the first one it really good much more action-packed and it makes more use of the background character that I was hoping to see more of so that was fun it left on a cliff hanger but Hopefully, Yahtzee will give us an ending in a next book instead of committing THE SIN. You know the one. This one, in my opinion, it's better than the first and I hope we get a conclusion
Especially cause it seems this scratches my space drama itch more then most thing coming out today

All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.
