Was much better than expected

After listening to quite a few outbreak stories, they can be a 50/50 hit or miss. They are either ultra gory or turn into lovey dovey twilight wannabe. This one was neither it was just happy middle ground. Tells the story of just your average teenage girl trying to survive in new world of normal. Also would recommend for young teens as it didn’t have the overkill of vulgarity and bad language as adult novels tend to do. Narrator did great job and was easy to listen to. I was given this title in exchange for honest review and I honestly would recommend as It was something I could see myself using a credit for easily without regret.

Super fun ride!

The first few words had me wondering just how YA this was going to be. But the story took off like a shot and I didn't look back. At the end I was sad it was so short! Fun twisty take on the fast zombie. Loved it ❤️❤️

Great read

I loved this story. I was hooked from the beginning. I was on the edge of my seat, unable to put this story down. The characters are believable and likeable. I even liked the cat. This is not your typical zombie apocalypse. I like the term half-pocalypse. Your safe during the day and stay in at night. Until these wilders change their habits. Great read, you won't be disappointed. I look forward to reading more by this author, Cass Kim.

Not a zombie story

This is a highly entertaining original story with wonderful characters. The description given makes it sound like a zombie story, but it's not. It's much better than that. If you are a zombie fan, you will still like it, but if, like me, you are not a zombie fan, you will enjoy it too. Very unique world

I loved this book. I don’t know why I’ve never heard about the series until now. It’s so unique. I can’t wait to see what the future holds and if they are onto a cure or if it mutates more than they are ready for. The characters are so wonderful. And this is the best world building.

The narrator really brought it alive even more. I loved listening to her.

Great new take on an apocalypse

The cover drew my attention, the name made me think something different than it was, reading the description cinched it, I wanted to see what this book was about. I am glad I did. This was an interesting take on a sort of "half" apocalypse with zombies.

The novel talks about how there are zombies out in the world, but that people can still live relatively safe if they live by a set of rules. But if they are not careful, that safety won't last long.

Narrator did a good job reading the book and did an ok job giving each character their own tone though could have been better

Tension-filled Ride - Highly Recommend!

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and any opinions expressed herein are my own.

This is a wonderful, tension-filled, well-written, quick read. Wilders will hook you from the beginning as Renna, the MC, is a normal, average teenager trying to survive in an abnormal world with a virus that has no cure and can kill you. She follows the rules set forth by the government so that she and her family plus her cat Tim Tam live through each night. But, she is a teenager with teenage desires of spending time with friends at a party at night - something that she has never been able to do. You will root for Renna and her family as the city is put on lockdown when there is an attack of the Wilders [those exposed to the virus] at a nightclub where Renna's brother was playing music. The action sequences are terrifying as you understand how dire the situation is for Renna and the life/death decisions that she has to make. I loved the world building - which was very realistic and even the science around the disease was interesting. Highly recommend!

The narrator, Liz Brand, was wonderful. She had a tautness to her voice during the action sequences that had me on the edge of my seat, willing Renna to survive. During the quieter, more emotional moments, she was able to convey Renna's angst and scars in a very believable and compelling fashion.

Wilders will hook you

Wilders takes place in a world that seems familiar, but it quickly becomes evident how radically different it is. Mystery, action, suspense, adventure, and even romance can be found in this story of a young girl dealing with a terrifying new reality.

Author Cass Kim brings her world to life with ease, confidence, and a voice all her own. The action sequences are particularly pulse-pounding, and one feels that they are right there with the main character, Renna, fighting to survive. Best of all, Wilders tells a compelling story while leaving the reader wanting more.

I want more!

I really enjoyed this book. It’s a Zompoc with a difference. The storyline focuses on teenagers and the semi-post apocalyptic world that they live in. The narration was great too and really suited the book and the characters. If there is another book, I would definitely listen to it.
