Publisher's summary

"The deepest secrets leave a trail that lead straight to the heart."

Storm Peckham has lived her entire life a walking, talking lie. It's an open secret that her father's best ranch hand is his half-breed son. Only one other living soul knows that "son" is Storm. And that soul, her half-sister Emma, has been kidnapped.

Without Emma, Storm faces a future as lonely and desolate as the desert toward which the kidnapper's tracks lead. But as long as Emma keeps leaving clues that tell Storm she's all right - and to stall for time - there's still hope.

When US Marshalls Colt and Cole Dalton meet their hired tracker, Colt senses something isn't quite right about this small, unusually scrawny "boy". And it's not just Storm's odd methods, pushing the pace one minute, ambling the next. Its subtle movements that betray feminine grace, eyes that seem to see right through to his soul.

With the handsome Colt tracking her every move, Storm's instincts warn her she's on borrowed time. And not even saving Emma will keep a lid on more than one secret with the power to change everything...for all of them.

Wild Storm!

This is the first book I listen to by Sandra Sinclair, and I liked the story very much. Storm is a half-indian girl forced to live as if she was a boy. Things get interesting and funny when she begins to fall in love with a marshal!

The narration of CJ McAlister is as always, great!

I received this audio-book free for an honest review by the author, narrator, or publisher. Thank you!!!

Living a Lie

Storm is living a lie. To protect her life, her mom has passed her off as a boy as long as Storm has lived. only her sister knows the truth. But her sister gets kidnapped and Storm helps two lawmen track her sister and the kidnapper but nothing is as it seems. The story was interesting but wrapped up too quickly and cleanly for my liking. Spolier alert: Storm was a boy because her father didn't want any girls, but when her secret comes out, it wasn't a big deal to her father. I wanted more drama and her father to get more of a comeuppance.

Historical Romance

I’m not particularly pleased with this audiobook. The narrator had a great voice but the cadence was too slow for me! His rhythm just kept repeating throughout the whole book. There didn’t seem to be much variation at all. Not monotone, but the same few notes over and over.
This story had an interesting concept, but the thoughts and narration took far more of the time than the conversations.

I enjoyed this historical romance audiobook. The characters were fresh and believable and the story was fun to listen to. The author has a nice touch with presenting the era and the narration was well done as well. Overall, a good book to listen to.

Refreshing discovery

Refreshing story of hardship and discovery. Storms life was unimaginable. Beautiful story of self discovery and finding yourself.
Narration was done wonderfully as all characters were well established through his voice.
Some of the descriptive passages were overdrawn while others were left lacking. However, the story itself was captivating enough that those moments seemed fleeting.
