Audie Award, Best Female Narrator, 2016

Jacky Faber is framed as passing confidential U.S. information to the British. Forced to flee Boston, she goes undercover as a governess for a prominent Puritan family. When outed by a nosy postmaster, she deserts the respectability of her position, dons a leotard and slippers, and poses as a Russian tightrope walker in a traveling circus. But the law soon catches up with her, and prospects do not look good. Through her many adventures, Jacky has always found the ingenuity to escape dire situations, but this time it looks like Puss in Boots has run out of lives... and her happily-ever-after will be cut short at the foot of the gallows.

outstanding

What made the experience of listening to Wild Rover No More the most enjoyable?

I have loved all of these books so very much. young adult fiction? bah... these books are for everyone! Or.. I am just a kid at heart. I stayed up all night listening to this book and laughed and cried. I rarely do that.

What did you like best about this story?

Well, not to give any of the story away, but the final reckoning was wonderfully done.

What about Katherine Kellgren’s performance did you like?

She is among the best of the audible performers. I will listen to anything she does. She IS Jacky Faber.

Any additional comments?

I hope generations of readers, both young adult and adult, read these books, listen to these books, cherish LA Meyer's wonderful work and Katherine Kellgren's masterful performance. I know I will listen to them again and again.

Such a good series

I can't believe it's over! but couldn't imagine a better way to end it. The narrator is hands down the best I have listened to on Audible.

Highly recommended series for any age

This review is of the whole series which has sadly come to an end with the death of the author and performer both. I’m well past the recommended age for readership of this series but thoroughly enjoyed it for years and feel it’s suitable for nearly any age. I am truly mourning the loss of the high spirited heroin, Jackie. I laughed aloud at some of her sayings and antics, cried with her tragedies, and cheered her upbeat, unflappable spirit and wit. I feel I’ve lost good friends in Jackie, L.A. Meyer, and the talented Katherine Kellgren. God speed one and all.

perfect as always

Would you consider the audio edition of Wild Rover No More to be better than the print version?

The entire series is amazing. So sad this is the end.

What does Katherine Kellgren bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Jackies character really comes to life because of the narrator. All the characters are very distinguished because of the superior job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes. i also wanted to go back and start all over with the series

The last one does not disappoint!

I am a long time Jacky Faber/L.A.Meyer fan, and Katherine Kellgren is unbelievable in bringing all the fabulous characters to life. I have read all and listened to the audiobooks twice, except for Wild Rover. Oh My - usually the last book in a series is so bittersweet, but this last book could not have been more well planned!
From Bloody Jack to Wild Rover- all have brought tears and laughter. Me, at 53, and my 23 and 24 y/o daughters are all huge JF fans- I recommend this series to everyone, and hope to one day see a stage version!

GREAT READ!

This series was a great read and the closing book was no disappointment! For once, I was actually surprised at the end of a book. I really enjoyed all of these books but I think this last one was my favorite.

Brilliant

This is my favorite book series. I am now in college and it is still my favorite book series!! The in-depth plots and excellent narrations are amazing!! It is something else to have a female protagonist so vivaciously and hilariously going through the world. The series deals with deep topics, all while maintaining a thrilling atmosphere of adventure.

4.5/5 stars

4.5/5 Stars Wild Rover No More by L.A. Meyer
Narrated by Katherine Kellgren
Summary:
Jacky Faber is on the run yet again. The story contains several very long arcs. I liked her time as a governess best.

Additional Comments:
- Kellgren is amazing as usual but a lot of the middle was just painful because of the Russian accent and that Italian fool Jacky was playing around with.
- The end is satisfying but Oy, this is a long winded story. Unnecessarily so in some cases.
- It really ticks me off when parts are repeated. The entire letter from the previous book with Clarissa gloating was repeated in the beginning of this one. Do u know how annoying that is?
- Flashby finally got a fitting end, thank goodness.
- I like the irrepressible Jacky but she is also kinda a jerk to her closest friends, especially Jaimy.

Conclusion:
It’s a fitting end of an excellent series, even if it did drag on and on near forever.
