Publisher's summary

The day I left Wilder Valley, I swore I’d never return.

My dreams were too big for this small town, and I was determined to make it in LA, even if that meant leaving behind the man I loved.

Now I’m back, brokenhearted and publicly humiliated after a colossal breakup live-streamed to the masses. I have no career or money to show for my 23 years away. If I could hide out anywhere else on the planet, I would.

Instead, I resort to taking the only job in town. A nanny gig for my high school sweetheart.

Life didn’t go as planned for him either.

Ryan Wilder might be running his family ranch and looking like a tall glass of water while doing it, but he’s also drowning in responsibility, raising three children on his own, and dealing with the challenges of caring for his aging father.

We strike up a deal to help each other out. He offers me a place to stay along with a steady paycheck. In exchange I keep his teenagers out of trouble while figuring out my next step. Everything is perfect until those pesky little feelings from our youth come roaring back.

This time is different, though. We’ve experienced life, and we know what we want. At least, I thought I did. All the dreams I had for myself existed outside of this town, but the more time I spend with Ryan and his family, the more I question everything. Including my wild heart.

Narrated by Holly Warren and Robert Hatchet, Wild Hearts is a steamy second-chance small-town later-in-life romance between a single dad in his 40s and the one who got away!

Sweet, Heartfelt, and Steamy Romance!

What a great story! I adore second chance romance, and when you add in a sexy single dad, I am completely hooked! Val and Ryan have been best friends and each others first loves. Val doesn't have the best home life and spends much of her time at Ryan's home. She can't wait for graduation so she can leave her unhappy home to follow her dreams. Unfortunately that means leaving Ryan behind to help run the family ranch, leaving them both brokenhearted. Now twenty two years later, Val is returning home after many successes, but escaping a scandal that she was falsely accused of. She is devastated and embarrassed, fearing what the people back home will think of her, especially Ryan. Ryan is now a single father of three and running the family ranch. He is struggling to be a good father and work. He is in desperate need of a nanny to help with the kids, and Val is in desperate need of a job. When they first see each other, the sparks come back to life. Val agrees to help for awhile, not sure how long she will stay in the small town she always wanted to escape. The more time Val and Ryan spend together, the more their old feelings resurface and their sizzling chemistry is impossible to ignore. They try to keep their passion a secret, since it is only temporary. But when she is welcomed by old friends and family, and her heart starts opening up to Ryan and his kids, she begins to see this small town, and Ryan, as the home she has always wanted. Ryan wants Val to stay, but when the women he loves always leave, he has a hard time risking his heart again. Val and Ryan's timing wasn't right the first time around, can they make it work the second time when they have so much heartbreak holding them back? I loved this sweet, heartfelt, and sizzling romance! Val and Ryan were so great together, their connection and chemistry was undeniable. I loved how protective and loving she became with the kids, even when she didn't think it was possible. Ryan really made me swoon with how much he loved his family, and worked hard to be a good dad, son and lover.
Narrators, Holly Warren, and Robert Hatchet were amazing as they brought this wonderful story to life. They nailed all the characters perfectly, making me feel all the complex emotions they went through, and made me laugh out loud, cry, and totally swoon. This was a fun, emotional and steamy romance that captured my heart.

A great start to a new series.

I really enjoyed this single dad/small town/ second chance storyline. Great banter and chemistry between Val and Ryan. The supporting characters and their relationships added to the overall story. I can’t wait for the next one in this new series. Holly Warren and Robert Hatchet did a great job with the narration.

Great Listen!

A cute single dad, second chance romance. The narrators did a good job telling Ryan and Val's story. Val and Ryan were childhood sweethearts when Val left it wasn't on good terms with Ryan. 20 something years later after a devastating public breakup Val finds herself no where to turn but to go home. Ryan is struggling to take care of his three kids, an ailing dad and a ranch. Val needs a job and Ryan needs help so she ends up working for her ex. I enjoyed listening to this story.

Awesome Listen!

Kacey Shea wrote a great book with Wild Hearts. I love how the characters were not looking for love, yet found it. They fought their attraction and chemistry, until they didn't. Holly Warren and Robert Hatcher both fit the perspective characters and brought them to life. Its a great listen with some unexpected twists, subtle humor, and slow burning embers.

Great second chance romance

This book has such heart and healing that I just loved it. We start with Val and Ryan as high school sweethearts and when Val is determined to move away to have the career she has always wanted it leaves Ryan behind in Wilder Valley to mend his broken heart. Life goes on and they lose touch and live their own lives until they both have things happen and when Val comes back to Wilder Valley, fate brings them back together. The road isn't easy but together they can make this work.

These are great and well-thought-out characters throughout this book so I am hopeful for more books to come from this one. This is a great small town with people that care about each other and real-life happenings that we all have to deal with so they are believable and likable. I felt for Ryan trying to raise his kids, especially the teenage daughter. Whew, that brought back memories.

Holly Warren and Robert Hatchet are new narrators to me but I really enjoyed them both. Great job telling Ryan and Val's story and pulling me into this family that I want more of. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

Your new favorite single dad

I enjoyed this so much. It's the right amount of sass, swoon, and spice. I live for the single dad/nanny trope!

Sweet Second Chance Romance!

I loved this sweet country small town romance. Ryan and Val's second chance romance is emotional, funny, sweet, sexy, and heartwarming. The characters are amazing. Ryan, a single dad, is handsome, and caring. Val is beautiful, kind, and supportive. They are perfect together. Ryan's kids are awesome! I love the Wilder family. Jackson is an interesting character, and I would love to read his story. Holly Warren and Robert Hatchet did a fantastic job with the narration. I enjoyed it.

Second chance romance, single dad

I was pleasantly surprised by this second chance romance. I think I always have low expectations of second chance romances because they tend to be full of angst and I am a grudge holder… if they broke up because of cheating then I refuse to give them a second chance in my mind. Luckily, none of that was involved in Wild Hearts (ok, maybe a little bit of angst but not enough to give me heartburn)! Like many high school sweethearts, Val and Ryan had plans to stay together but Val’s home life threw a wrench in their plans and caused her to skip town once she graduated. I loved that while both Val and Ryan were hurt by the past, neither one of them seemed to hold on to that anger or resentment when dealing with each other again; they were in a tough spot and decided on a plan that was beneficial to both of them. The small town feel was wonderful, I am a sucker for all the nosy busybodies who are in each others business! I will say that I wasn’t a big fan of Val’s in the beginning but her character seemed to really grow throughout the book, and honestly I think the best part for me was her and her dads relationship at the end. This book was so much more than a second chance romance, it really showed the struggle families go through to stay together and grow. Holly Warren and Robert Hatchet were both new narrators for me but they did an amazing job brining the story to light. Robert Hatchet really highlighted Ryan’s southern charm!
