Pack Rule number two: Always protect your mate

I protected my country. Protected my platoon. Now all I wanted to protect was her. Too bad that wasn’t an option.

I couldn’t fall for the beautiful slip of a female. The baby sister of my brother’s new mate. She was way too young. Way too human. Still in college. And too bright a force of nature. She had her whole life ahead of her. And I had the Green Berets begging me to re-enlist.

My wolf...he wanted her. But if I let her go without claiming her, I might not survive the moon madness.

Story good - Reader has bizarre inflections

I liked the story just fine. But this reader has the strangest inflections. over the many years I have been listening to audible books I find her interpretations very strange - accenting the wrong word in the phrase or sentence... just strange.

Don’t read if you want romance.

I was hoping that the other bad reviews were wrong, they are not. I thought the with 2 female writers playing the story line off from one another that there would at least be a good storyline, I was wrong. Book 1 was full of harsh sexual context that made you feel dirty not aroused. Book 2 had no story line, no romance, and made you feel sorry for the little girl that was the main character. The male character even called her "little girl" throughout the entire book. Again just a dirty feeling. I can understand the wolf instinct to claim his mate, but there was no romance or falling in love. I would not recommend this book. The narrator is monotone and horrible to listen to.

I liked it!

It was cute and spicy. The narration could have been better. That same tone for every person made it hard to distinguish between who was speaking, but I'll go on to the next cuz I wanna know more lol

Great series so far.

This is just a fun series. Nothing too serious just something fun to listen to. The stories so far are all tied together and that makes it more fun. I'm looking forward to the rest of the Wold Ranch series.

My rating range of this story... 1 - 3.5 Stars
If significant, why? The H's nickname for the h is little girl and an extreme amount of repetitive angst dialog and head babble.
Biggest deduction? 2 Stars for the above

Um, Wow, Beyond Descriptive Sex - 8 or above

Was there so much sex or unrealistic sex that you rolled your eyes and/or skipped forward? Yes. Tons of O's

The back story... The H is on leave for his brother's wedding. The h is the half sister of the bride. He doesn't know who she is but she knows who he is and seduces him, then runs away. The next day, they meet again at her sister's house and since she is his mate, he wants to keep her.

Romance or Gist: The H kept calling her Little Girl when they were having sex... 🤢🤮🤮🤮! Child molester vibes. Authors... DON'T USE A SEXUAL PET NAME OF LITTLE GIRL!

The drama explosion... The h freaks out and takes off!
Did it feel Real, OK or contrived? Ugh
Was it OTT? Very
Separation involved? Slight
Was it resolved properly or rushed? Properly

Final Notes... The use of Little Girl in a sexual connotation was gross! Both the MCs had continuous repetitive dialog meant to create angst but was just irritating. Book 1 and Book 3 were much better.

hot but there is some of the story unresolved.

(Colton & Marina): what a scorcher. The brother to Boyd and the sister to Audrey, Marina and Colton have a storm of a meeting. Marina is headed to the ranch for her sister's wedding and doesn't know about the wolf boys. Almost immediately Colton knows…. Mate! There's insta lust and it is a sizzler. 🔥🔥🔥. One problem, Marina knows who he is, but he never got her name. So when she leaves early in the morning, he's at a loss. What I didn't like is that he uses her age as an excuse to push her away, but it was never a problem when sex was involved. The plot twist is what really got me… how Marina is told about the big secret. I would've lost my s***... 🤣🤣🤣. Still the Wolf's are having to deal with the feaux rancher that tried to date Audrey in the previous book but there's no resolution there which is bothersome. Hopefully they'll deal with him in the next book. I didn't really like the ending it was kind of… blah.

Melinda

Enjoyed the story and characters. The author could have spent more time with the h learning to ride a horse, instead of just getting on and riding off for someone who has never been on a horse before . I don’t know why the same person keeps narrating when all the reviews are not good. Her male voice is hard to listen to.

Narrator...

The story was good. But the narrator is not good with changing up her voice. All the males sound alike and all the females sound alike. I think they should have a male narrator for the male characters.

Short & sweet

Thoroughly enjoyed the story. I was ready for a story that was not full of psychological angst. It was a fast paced story that held my interest thru the HEA end. I recommend this story if you’re in the same place as I.

Speedy and Sexy

This one, book 2 in the series, felt like a whirlwind. I loved it but I felt as though my feet were barely going to touch the ground, it is a fast paced read, lots of angst, misunderstandings and all around hot stuff!

Steamy and light story

Renee and Vanessa write lovely, light, steamy and entertaining shifter romance. I always enjoy their books. They won’t incite extreme emotions but they are well written and very entertaining.
Kylie Stewart’s performance is great, as always, she does a good male voice too.

Straight up sexy and wild!

Another quickie fun and sexy cowboy Wolf shifter romance. I’m oddly addicted to this series and it’s been a welcome distraction while in a book funk.
I’m not keen on the narrator’s “male voice” but she works well as the female POV.

good story, abysmal narration

The storyline for the first half od the book was surprisingly good. The sex scenes are quite steamy and enhanced by the opportunities for consent.
Unfortunate the lifeless, monotone of the narrator was so offputting that I didn't get further than halfway.

Great

The 2nd Wolf Ranch book Wild is about Marina and Colton they are both heading to Wolf Ranch for a wedding only the road is washed out by a sudden flood. Marina knows who Colton is and he only knows she’s his mate and from there things take off with some laugh out loud humour, lots of scorching hot sexual interactions and some wolf shifters in the mix. It is a slightly predictable outcome but the scorching hot sex more than makes up for that lol. Now I’m off to book 3, thank goodness for shifters and scorching hot sex, sigh, if only!
