Decent but dragging

This book is okay, at first I really liked the main character but about halfway through I started to find her trying and unnecessarily rude and callous

No surprises in this story

Brides series
Wild Angel book 1

Author’s Writing Style is laden with descriptive clichés, predictable phrases, and run-of-the-mill wording. Characters flaunt Drama Queen-like personalities, exchanging clichés in their conversations and shouting matches with one another. Interesting plot but predictable outcome. Despite well-performed narration, this was a cumbersome listening experience. Not bad enough to return, but I will not purchase sequels.

Wild Angel

While I already had the book, which I loved, I wanted to get the audiobook to check out Elizabeth Klett. Miriam Minger has long been known as truly awesome author. This one takes place in Medieval Ireland and begins in the Wicklow Mountains of Ireland in 1190 when Finest of tools happens to be hunting when he hears a baby crying. The mother has been killed by a boar, but not before she stabs the beast with her distinctive knife. Fineen hides the baby and keeps her quiet but hears plans the Norman knights have to kill the child. Instead, he takes her home and she is raised as his own daughter. Twenty years later, after he died, she was sent to Ronan O'Byrne to protect.

To say Triona is fiesty would be an understatement. Read the story to find out about the mystery of her past and the present conflicts that result from Triona's quick Irish temper!

This was good as a book, but the audio provided by Elizabeth Klett is fabulous! Her storytelling abilities and her distinctive talent for varying the sounds of the characters voices makes it like watching a movie in your head! Excellent audiobook, easy to recommend! 😍

Wonderful Irish Historical Romance

Would you consider the audio edition of Wild Angel to be better than the print version?

N/A I've not read the print version

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wild Angel?

I enjoy the swim in the loch as Ronnan, Treaona, and Nile return to the stronghold.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Klett – was your favorite?

I enjoyed the attitude and wonderful Irish lilt that Ms Klett put into the voice of Treaona.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Battles rage everywhere in Ireland! Between the English Crown and the Irish. Between clans. And between the dark Irish Chieftain of clan O'Byrne and the firey haired adopted daughter of the head of clan O'Toole. And who will win which battles? Only time and love will tell.

Loved it !!!

This was my first Miriam Minger novel and I am already a big fan. It had great characters, and a unique and creative plot with several uexpected twists. The narrator was outstanding and did a great job with multiple voices and accents. I can't wait to start the next book

Good story, so-so narration

It's hard for me to keep my mind on a story when an accent is faked... and this one was. I guess I would rather it be read straight without an accent that detracts. Since I was leaning toward a so-so for the story itself, I read some of the book without narration. I liked it much better.

Wonderful Irish Historical Novel Finally on Audio!

Any additional comments?

Wild Angel is a historical romance originally written in 1994 by Miriam Minger. I love historical romance novels, especially Irish/highlander romances set in the 12th and 13th centuries. This novel and audio book did not disappoint. The heroine is a feisty, head strong, red headed warrior and the hero is an "alpha male" Irish rebel who can't help but fall in love with the lass.

The story begins when Chieftain Fineen O'Toole finds 6 month old Triona in the arms of her dead Norman mother in the middle of the forest. He adopts her knowing that a Norman clan wants her dead. She grows up a happy little girl, following underfoot of her older brother Conor and Fineen's Godson, Ronan O'Byrne. After Conor's death at the hands of the Normans, and on Fineen's own deathbed, he makes Ronan vow to become Triona's guardian. He does so, planning to marry her off as soon as possible. In true historical romance fashion, Ronin is jealous of anyone who even looks at Triona, and over time learns to respect her unbreakable spirit.

Elizabeth Klett’s narration is simply fantastic. She really brings the characters to life, giving each character their own distinct voice. She is also able to switch genders and generations with ease.

Simply put, Wild Angel is a wonderful historical romance that lasts the test of time. I highly recommend it!

Narrator's voice is too soft

Story was good, but the narrator's voice was too soft and her characters voices were not consistent.
