Publisher's Summary

In the second pulse-pounding novel in the USA Today best-selling Heirs of Chicagoland series, vampire Elisa Sullivan gets drawn into the shifting sands of pack politics.

Vampires were made, not born - until Elisa Sullivan came along. As the only vampire child in existence, she grew up with a heavy legacy, and tried to flee her past. Then circumstances drew her back to Chicago, and she stayed to keep it safe. With shifter Connor Keene, the only son of Pack Apex Gabriel Keene, at her side, she faced down a supernatural evil that threatened to destroy Chicago forever.

After the dust from the attack has settled, Elisa is surprised when Connor invites her to a usually private Pack event in the north woods of Minnesota, and by the warm welcome she receives from some of Connor's family, even though she's a vampire. But the peace doesn't last. The shifters tell tales of a monster in the woods, and when the celebration is marred by death, Elisa and Connor find themselves in the middle of a struggle for control that forces Elisa to face her true self - fangs and all.

Fantastic Story!!

I've loved every book that I've read by Chloe Neill, so I may be a bit biased.
This book was better than the first! I love the chemistry between Connor and Elisa. Chloe, as always, does a great job with character and story development. Suzanne Elise Freeman is definitely one of my favorite narrators! She always brings the characters to life and never sounds dull or monotone like some other narrators I've heard recently. I hope this series continues and that Suzanne keeps narrating the whole series!

I am all into this series

I guess I should start off by saying possible SPOILER ALERTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Connor invites Elisa to a shifter initiation that should be a straight forward event right ? Wrong ! Along the way they discover each other more as Elisa is introduced to the inner workings of shifter clans and politics. The relationship between Connor and Elisa is growing as well as the beast within Elisa. They discover that all is not as it seems within the Clan. The death of a young shifter female and rumors about a beast that is stalking the territory has all members of the clan on edge. Connor and Elisa run smack into a schism within the clan between the elders and the younger members. As Connor and Elisa investigate they find themselves on a path of lies and ultimate abuse of power with the clan . Not to mention the obstacles thrown in their path especially one by the name of Miranda along with the clan Elders. Events come to a head as Elisa is forced to make a decision that she can never undo and the clan may never forgive or accept. As Connor tries to defend Elisa he is becomes bound to this clan and placed in a position that secrets will be revealed. I love this series and can't wait for the next book. I definitely would recommend this series to anyone who loves vampires and shifters and the other paranormals in between. The narrator was very good. I usually buy the book and get the audio version so that I don't have to miss a thing. I have to admit that this time I only read a few pages and just listened to narrator wrap me up in this awesome story.

Better than the first in this series

Chloe hits her snarky stride in this the second book in the Heirs of Chicagoland. Not wanting to spoil anything for anyone I'm not going to get into details, just know that this book delivers in the way all Chicagoland fans want and expect from Chloe.

Already impatiently waiting for book 3!!

Love Love Love!!!! Chloe Neill’s Chicagoland Vampire Series is one of my all time favs, so of course I’m loving the Heirs Spinoff. Chloe Neill has a great writing style and her characters are always well developed and the storyline is awesome. Narration is nice as well. I also loved seeing Merit and Ethan again. So started giggling when Gabriel Keene called Merit ‘Kitten’.. missed them all so much. Well probably read that series again well waiting on book 3.

I loved this book!!

I absolutely loved this book. The characters in the series a simply amazing. I especially enjoyed the new addition to their little crew. I enjoyed the change of location in this book. And the fact that Connor was introducing Elisa to members of his pack and family. They really work well as a team. I can't wait for the next book in the series. As always Susan Elise Freeman did an excellent job with the narration. Completely worth a read and listen.

Wicked Hour -book 2 of Heirs of Chicagoland

Book one Wild Hunger -was good. Wicked Hour -book 2 in Heirs of Chicagoland-is excellent. Couldn’t put it down. This is an Elisa & Connor getting to know each other story. The whole book is packed with action when Connor brings Elisa to visit and seek out answers from a Minnesota shifter pack.
