Abby Lewis never pictured herself on the survival game show, Endurance Island. She's just not the 'survival' type. But when her boss offers her a spot on the show and the opportunity of a lifetime, she packs her bags and heads to the tropics to be a contestant.

Once in the game, it's clear that Abby's in over her head. The game itself is full of competitive, aggressive people, and no one's more aggressive than sexy, delicious - and arrogant - Dean Woodall. Sure he's clever, strong, good at challenges, and has a body that makes her mouth water. He also hates Abby just as much as she hates him. That's fine with her; she'll just ignore the jerk.

But the rules of Endurance Island are working against them. Abby and Dean are teamed up - alone - on the beach. It's either work together, or go home. Stuck with no one else's company but their own, they learn they do make a good team after all.

And with just a little bit of kindling, the flames of hate can quickly turn to flames of passion. This book features enemies, lovers, enemies who become lovers, and lots and lots of tropical heat.

The story is about a couple of people from Texas meeting in a game show. The narrator did a good job with putting the emphasis where it was needed but her Canadian accent bled through in very distracting ways.

Also some sound edit errors were distracting as well.

I love this whole series and have read it close to 10 times, but never got the audiobook because they only did first one. I ended up picking it up at a site-wide sale not too long ago. Listening to it is definitely a different experience.

While i love the story, every time Dean speaks, I'm yanked out of the story. It's pretty bad. I think I'll stick to reading it in the future.

Story was great. Narrator, not so much.

Where does Wicked Games rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was an okay audiobook. I mean I did not really love it, but I did not hate it. I actually clicked BUY by accident and then thought "forget it" when I thought of contacting customer service to get a refund. The story started out good, then was okay, but the last few chapters were really good. I have read other books by Jessica Claire "Jill Myles" and liked them so I thought I would take a chance. If you watch or have watched Survivor, this is a romantic take on the reality show.

What did you like best about this story?

Dean.

Which scene was your favorite?

The cabin scene.

Any additional comments?

The narrator did a decent job. She did Dean and other character voices very well. However, the heroine, Abby, is originally supposed to be from Texas (then she moves to DC for her job), but the heroine sounds like she has an accent...Minnesota maybe. I don't know. The way Stephanie Robinson said or had an accent on the following words "again, been, out, obliged, mouth" it took me a little time to get used to. I want to stress that it was not bad, it is just that it took a little time to get used to. Also, the sound quality was poor. I don't think that helped the narrator.

I don't read this genres but thought I'd give it a shot. Great story! Pretty bad narrator performance. But I really enjoyed the characters and how they developed. Doesn't hurt that I love Reality TV games. :-)

I don't even like Romance, but this was really good

the author and the story were great. I wish they would have used a different narrator. The main characters were supposed to be from texas but the narrator did use an accent and jist sounded strange
