Funny

Funny, romantic, and hot! I really enjoyed the loving bickering and strong women. Loved it!

Nick and Simone sizzle

I truly savored this book. Nikolaj Veis and Simone Brighton’s book had it all, suspense, mystery, romance, and all kinds of supernatural creatures. It was definitely the best in the series. I loved everything about this book. I found the novel passionate and the words just moved me. The narrator Brock Thompson was PERFECT for this story. His voice was smooth like butter and it flowed so well with the story.

These two characters are not new if you have read the Dark Protector series. They appear as far back as book 3, Hunted, but this the first time we get the background story as well as their mission as it pertains to the survival of their race. Simone, a witch, was being groomed to take her mother’s seat as one of the Coven Council’s Nine. Nikolaj is the demon advisor who we later learned protected Zane and now we learned why he played both sides of the fence.

What I loved about this book is that it felt more like a Dark Protector novel than this new Wicked Realm series. I honestly haven’t warmed to these pretentious witches but I loved the vampire and demon interactions. The action was non-stop; the chemistry between Simone and Nikolaj was intense.

“I mated you because I’ve loved you from the first moment I laid eyes upon you a century ago…many soldiers in war wonder if they have a heart…I’ve never wondered …because you are in it and always have been. My heart is yours and always will be. Everything I have done in this life from the good to the truly terrible has been to make the world a better place for you and for any children we may have. Everything I am and will ever be belongs solely to you. No woman has ever been more loved than you are right now Simone.”

That declaration of love was just everything I had been expecting and more. I felt it in my heart. The feeling those words invoke is exactly why I read romance novels. Fervent adoration and love is so sexy and Nikolaj was very sexy. This second chance romance was so enjoyable because you get to see the growth in the characters from their first go-around with love. Both Simone and Nick have honed their abilities, made a mark with their respective group of people and now it’s time to deal with what broke them up. They are adults now and are clear on what they want. Nikolaj goes right in and took no prisoners.

The secondary characters added meat to this novel, specifically Bear. I can’t wait for more stories about him. This story ended with many things unresolved like the true identity of the antagonist, the distributor of deadly drug and Simone’s status with Coven unresolved. I can’t wait to continue the journey with the Realm Enforcers.

Another good chapter

This was another good chapter in this series. Of course, it left as many questions unanswered as it answered; as expected.

narration was pretty good. my only complaint is that many of the voices, of certain characters, were different than they were in previous novels; it couldn't be helped.

This is a great listen! I highly recommend this series and can not wait for the next. Worth the credit. Narration is great which enhances the listen.

Oh yeah, this book is an erotic romance paranormal.

THIS BOOK BREAKS ALL THE RULES!!! Love a good twist and now the future is getting bigger and brighter with the possibilities.

Simone is not your ordinary witch of the coven nine but more and as she travel to try to save her life and the truth. She will find out more than what she was bargaining for. The twist of lies, half truths and deception, believe nothing what your knew before all the rules are going to be broken.

Nikolaj was young when he decided to marry Simone, they have a history and he wants a future, but when a shocking prediction is made, he not only has to give up his love for Simone but he has to become a monster among monster to save his people.

Wicked Burn is the third book in Rebecca Zanetti's spin-off Realm Enforcers series, off of the Dark Protectors series. It features the love story of Nikolai a pure breed demon and Simone both a witch and member of the coven nine. Both characters were introduced to us in the DP series and again in the first two books of the Realm Enforcers series. It's filled with love, non stop action and surprises. I have been waiting to find out what happened between Simone and Nick all those years ago and was so not disappointed. The twist and turns in this book, along with their outcomes is truly amazing. I highly recommend this series to anybody who loves a great paranormal romance with an excellent story built throughout it.

Absolutely love these books!!!

If you're like me and you like a good suspense, action story along with a great romance and steamy, sexy scenes, you will absolutely adore these books. The only bad part is when you get to the end and you have to wait for the next book.

Hot and sexy with a twist at every turn!!!

I normally do not write reviews because I suck at them but this is a must read or listen! The badass witch and her overbearing demon are a force to be reckoned with in this book and I Iove that family is so pertinent. This has quickly become one of my favorite authors as she believes in continuation. Each book focuses around a couple while introducing the next and appearances from previous characters throughout the series. You will not be disappointed!

Yes The Witches and the Coven Nine. Dump them!!

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Kill of the Coven Nine or gave them a lesser role in the story

Did Brock Thompson do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

He was OK but he recorded the volume to low. I read audio books so I can move about and cook and drive. Do other things but even on high volume I had to be in a quiet place to listen to this story. I could not leave the room without take my kindle with me or I couldn't here it.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

More romance add to the sex scenes!! It just sex without romance

After a century of separation from his true love Nicholai Veis, 2nd in command to the Demon Nations his going to mate her. Simone Brightston Witch and member of the Coven Nine governing body of Witches, is being accused of treason and the development and distribution of a drug called Apollo. Apollo kills witches and humans. Simone is being hunted by her own people. Enters Nicholai/Nick and whisk her away from the Enforcers attacking her and trying to capture her and bring her to trail.

I hate the Witches and have since the conception of the first series Dark Protectors. The Witches just are dumb. They are a narcissistic paranormal group that is always trying to kill its own for more power. They just don't work for me. I don't even think they should be consider a partner of the Realm. They do more harm then good. Now they are after Simone and with obvious evidence that she has been set up or is entirely stupid. They want to behead her. I would like to see Zanetti get rid of the Witches all together and just incorporate the good ones into other parts of the Realm. Just make them enemy because that's what they are.

I almost stop reading the story, because the first half with the witches just didn't make sense as usual. But I kept reading and toward the middle the story became to good to put down. It is full of action and surprises. I even started to like Simone which I didn't like in prior books. Now Nick WOW what a true Alpha Male. Loved Loved Loved him!!

I really like the introduction of the new race of Paranormals. I loved Bear and Flynn and am anxious to know how they get on in the storyline.

The other problem I had was the story ends with a lot of unresolved matters. Not quite a cliffhanger but enough of the story not completed in this book. So I guess we have to buy the next one. I hate it when authors try and force my hand to buy the next book by not finishing the one I am reading. For this a story that could have gotten 4 stars is now getting 3 stars and I might not read the next book in the series. Like I said the 2nd half of the story is Very Good, BUT the 1st half can be dumped in the trash!!

Oh the sex between Nick and Simone is HOT and EROTIC!!
