To start your journey in Wicca, you have two options: You can be lucky and live in an area where there is already a coven or a Wiccan circle that can teach you everything you need to know. Or, like most Wiccans, you can start your journey alone and your choice today is to inform yourself online. The information can be found, but often, it is incomplete and with different and contrasting perspectives. This makes it difficult to know where to start. For this reason, Amelia Glanville created this starter kit, bringing together in a single book everything that is important to know.

Story
Scott Cunningham's classic introduction to Wicca is about how to live life magically, spiritually, and wholly attuned with nature. It is a book of sense and common sense, not only about magick but also about religion and one of the most critical issues of today: how to achieve the much-needed and wholesome relationship with our Earth. Cunningham presents Wicca as it is today: a gentle, Earth-oriented religion dedicated to the Goddess and God. Wicca also includes Cunningham's own Book of Shadows.

Although there are over one million practicing Wiccans around the world today, Wicca is one of the world’s few religions that is more likely to be studied on one’s own than through in-person guidance. And while there is plenty of information about the “Old Religion” available, all of the diverse and often conflicting perspectives can make it hard to know where to begin. Combining three of Lisa Chamberlain’s top guides - Wicca for Beginners, Finding Your Path, and Living a Magical Life - the Wicca Starter Kit is designed to provide newcomers to Wicca with a solid orientation.

Wow!
As a person who has experienced injustice on a personal level and seen others hurt by it, i felt helpless with the religious influences that I was raised with. Ultimately feeling a "tough luck" kind of vibe from the heavens. But knowing that balance and the ability to empower myself gives me new hope for what good I can do. This was a refreshing and informative read with no pressure. I feel truly inspired for the journey ahead. I highly recommend this piece for anyone in need of a healthy start on their wiccan way or seeking information on what wicca is all about. Fears dispelled! Blessed be!

Good book, terrible narration
This is a good book. However, the quality of the recording itself is poor - very tinny and hollow sounding. Add to that the fact that the narrator is frequently unable to pronounce words in the text (eclectic was pronounced "uh-CLECK-lick," recognize became "RECK-uh-nize," etc.) and it becomes very difficult to listen to. I enjoy audiobooks as read by a diversity of narrators, but the ability to properly pronounce common words seems an obvious prerequisite for anyone chosen to read something aloud.

Great information! A perfect starting point
Alright, so I'm not done with the book yet but I felt like I needed to put in a review - reading the reviews before purchasing almost swayed my choice. Here are a fee of the things I've noticed so far and I am interested and do plan on continuing and possibly listening to the rest by this author.
Narration: If you're picky about your narrators I would definitely give this a sample listen before purchasing. Her voice is a bit grainy and monotone - she's not the worst but also not the best.(*If you've ever heard Doreen Virtue read... it's kinda like that but actually a bit better.) Her enunciation is not on point either. However, she is a pretty clear speaker and has a good tempo. Not too fast, not too slow. (Looking at the positives here!)
Information: This book is FULL of information for anyone that is eager to practice or just curious, there is a lot of details about origination, and it is very beginner friendly, everything is broken down into process-able pieces for the mind. It's full of good stuff to get your started.
I would definitely recommend this book to someone who is okay with monotone narration, someone who is interested/intrigued by wicca/witchcraft and looking to possibly begin practicing. It's a very good "square 1."

The sound of narrator is grating...
Kris Keppeler should not be allowed to narrate anymore books. I'm sure she is a lovely person, but she has major vocal fry. I cannot finish the audio book because her voice is too irritating. I'm sorry if this review seems harsh, but I'm just being honest.

An Excellent Guide to Wicca
I was expecting this guide to be very very basic, and although it does go over the core beliefs and practices of Wicca, I found lots of new information here. I particularly like how the author goes into reasons for why Wiccans do and believe particular things, some of the interesting history and even breaks down ritual for beginners.
For anyone starting out or simply interested in Wicca, I would truly reccommend this guide as it is clear, to the point and very educating.
