Publisher's Summary

Sixteen start-up strategies for entrepreneurs

What is a self-made man or woman? Ever thought about it? Success is not a straight-line deal. There is no A-to-Z path, and there are no magic beans that will carry you upward overnight. Have you ever wondered how to start, scale up, build teams, and flourish in an uncontested market? I can tell you. I did it.

In 1992, I landed in Estonia with $400 in my pocket. There, I discovered a truth that changed my life and the way I conducted business: You can make a lot of money as an entrepreneur by moving decisively in blue-sky markets - markets where you face very little competition and the tide can carry you to riches.

Over the next decade and a half, I built a portfolio of businesses worth $200 million. Now, I want to share the paths that led me to success, passing on my knowledge to you. In Why Sell Tacos in Africa? I explain 16 principles that allowed me to drive such tremendous growth. May you, too, find a blue-market and watch your business soar.

Great Value in Little Time

This is a short listen, but it really packs a lot of value in. It is like an entrepreneurial business strategy course crammed into a very condensed package that cuts out all the fluff.

There is a pretty standard format for creating the 200 page business book based on a 20 page idea. This book is the opposite of those. The fluff and padding is left out and it's straight to the point. Certainly going to listen to this again.

More than Golden Nuggets

Book was written with clear understanding about Entrepreneurship, Leadership and management. I like how it explains finding the 'Blue Sky' (ie.) finding an unsaturated market. Using real life experiences as an example was equally amazing...

Outstanding book

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.
Countless people go to work every day in jobs they do not like and dream of their lives being better.
One way to achieve different results in one’s life is to be an entrepreneur; however the path of an entrepreneur is not easy. It is full of difficulties, uncertainties, struggles and challenges.
This book is a wonderful map with which to chart your course if you so choose to sail the challenging sea of an entrepreneur.
This book will make you ponder, think and reflect upon what you have set out to do but above all it will help you understand your undertaking and what you need to do. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is even remotely thinking of possibly changing their own life course to pursue that of an entrepreneur.

Amazing

This is my first time using audible and I have to say, I started with the right book. This book gives you the hard truth along with an ocean of advice. It doesn't promise fairytales or get rich quick schemes. He's uses his own experience to advice which I believe is the best form of advise for anyone, especially for young entrepreneurs, and more importantly he has made the millions. Stop reading this and get this books ASAP.

Inspiring practical advice for Speculators and Entrepreneurs

I enjoyed the author's personal account of his entrepreneurial journey in Eastern Europe and his openness about starting a new journey in Africa.

His thesis of Africa being a place of vast investment and business opportunities is refreshing and I highly recommend it to adventurous entrepreneurs who have yet to look to Africa as an option.

Best short business inspirational book

Absolutely brilliant book, no drama straight to the point very useful advice. Really compact so it can be re-listened again to refresh the memory. Every entrepreneur who struggles to understand what it takes to be one should read it.

Here's the deal - one of the overused clichés

Worse than what I'd imagine a self help book to be (I've never read one to verify), however I should have known just by reading the unintelligent title. Why sell tacos in Africa is as bad as it sounds, just like the title it's a book full of lame clichés and unuseful advice such as success is based on believing in a higher power. The best thing you can get out of this book is that given the author claims to be worth over $200m you can rest assured building a fortune is not limited to genius's, infact after listening to the book being smart would have probably hindered the authors financial success in life. My hope is a higher power is looking over me to insure when I come of age I don't feel the need to share my wisdom with the world by writing a book of proclamations.
