Media powerhouse and expert critic Bill O'Reilly's most comprehensive book yet offers new insight into the current state of life in America. In examining the social, political, and economic aspects of our daily lives, O'Reilly exhausts every bureaucratic system to see what our higher-ups are doing to take care of us, and points out the people and institutions who are failing the average American. At the same time, he makes one of his most profound and daring journeys yet, as he ventures to question how much genuine altruism is left in a society that thrives on a competitive, increasingly self-indulgent ethos. With thoughtfulness and candor, O'Reilly targets our biggest problems, and offers sage advice on how to regain control and trust in these troubled times. This book reads like a how-to guide for sucess in a power hungry world. O'Reilly suggests tools for choosing who and who not to associate with in one's personal and professional life. Regardless of the back and forth found in these other reviews, this is not a political book. It's a prety good read no matter your political leaning. I'm frankly shocked that people are comparing (the comic) Al Frankin's book with one of serious content.

On the content of the book...

I would imagine that most people who don't like what O'Reilly is saying float along in a reality insulated world, don't have children and don't believe in moral absolutes.
O'Reilly does and isn't afraid to say it, often loudly, but still allows that he could be wrong. Sometimes I think he is, however he's more right than wrong.
He skewers based on right and wrong, not left or right. Listen, pay attention and it may help you or someone you know get back on track and take responsiblity for their own life.

Responsibility, Integrity and the Guts to say it

Finally a foil for the liberal apologists who call themselves journalists. A critical non-PC view of America.
At last the country seems to be heading in the right direction - Arnie, George W. & a further 4 years post Nov 2004.
Keep up the good work Bill.

Once again, Bill is right on target. He identifies many issues and problems facing many of us and suggests good strategy for dealing with them.

This is the first O'Reilly book I've purchased and must say I truely enjoyed it. If this is the true Bill O'Reilly, I'm glad you are where you are in front of the American people.
