Publisher's summary

Avery Shaw is having a bad week. First, she had to cover a story on a barricaded gunman who likes to dance naked in his window. Second, she's receiving death threats with her morning newspaper. Lastly, and most importantly, her mom keeps vetoing her outfit choices. It's all in a day's work for this hardworking, if easily distracted, reporter. Avery Shaw is hot on the trail of the story, even if it means tangling with her hot ex-boyfriend - the county sheriff - and the equally hot, if slightly shadier pawnshop owner down the street. Getting the story is going to be totally worth it - that is if Avery can survive the week.

Quirky but loads of fun!

Love Amanda M. Lee's sense of humor!
Not crazy about the narrator. Too perfect. I will be following this series. Avery Shaw gets into trouble without trying. Works well since she is a reporter.

Nerd with an attitude.

I enjoyed listening to this book. There was a focus on the day to day life of the main character more than the mystery / drama of the story. Otherwise, I liked Avery Shaw's attitude, she didn't take any bullshit.

Laugh out loud sarcastic wit

I found this book to be hilarious especially Avery Shaw the female lead character because of her snarky quirky charm. I loved how the characters bantered back and forth it was refreshing. The storyline was believable and well written. This book is a must read/listen to if you love to laugh. I can tell the rest of this series is going to be just as amazing I can't wait to get to the next book. I highly recommend this book and this is my honest unbiased review.

Awful narration!

The person reading this book used no inflection, making Avery sound dry and flat. Ms. Clark reads like a tourist overly pronouncing words (writ---ten) while sucking a cough drop. The story is okay. Avery gets lost in her own irony.

Reader is horrible, story is great.

What made the experience of listening to Who, What, Where, When, Die the most enjoyable?

The story is a fun tale.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Avery, she is fun and snarky with a dose of self importance.

What didn’t you like about Angel Clark’s performance?

She does great on the female voices but the men she makes them sound like they are mentally slow and uncaring. It has spoiled the enjoyment of the first 2 books now. Both times I have stopped the audible book to finish reading the book myself. She ruined my listening enjoyment by doing that to the male characters. Maybe you should have a man read the male parts if she can't do it right.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yeah when I stopped listening and went back to reading it.

Any additional comments?

Unfortunately I have already purchased 6 of the audible books when I purchased the kindle version of the book because they were discounted. Live and learn.

Lite mystery ...

Would you be willing to try another book from Amanda M. Lee? Why or why not?

Yes. I would like to see what happens next with Avery.

What about Angel Clark’s performance did you like?

I liked that Ms. Clark really embodied the character of Avery. She made Avery very real. Elliot and Jake were interesting too.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

At 5 1/2 hours, this book would be good for a weekend car trip. I was able to listen to it in about 3 days commuting back and forth to work.

Any additional comments?

Who, What, Where ... is mystery lite. I liked the lead character because she wasn't your typical girl's girl. She got her nerd on and in a big way. One thing I didn't like so much was the fact that the resolution of the mystery seemed to almost come out of left field. As not to give away any spoilers, the 'bad guy' wasn't someone I would guessed it to be.

I might give this another listen just to see if I missed anything leading of to the end of the mystery.

I would recommend this book to my friends who like lite mysteries with a little nerd thrown in on the side!

Different, with the curve.

Watch how she runs. See her skill. She has the right stuff. Read rest of her books.

Clever

This book definitely wasn't what I expected. It was quirky and very descriptive. I enjoyed listening to it, and found myself amused. Angel Clark was awesome, as always!
