Great series; Houdini's story still fascinates

Where does Who Was Harry Houdini? rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The Who Was...series is one of my kids' favorites, especially out of the educational titles they listen to.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Harry and his wife are both compelling characters.

What does Kevin Pariseau bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is definitely a pleasant narrator. He doesn't intrude but keeps one engaged.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I have always found Houdini's story a bit sad but thankfully some of the poignant aspects were downplayed, which helped with listening to it before bed with my 12 year old.

Any additional comments?

I'd recommend this series to anyone looking for educational audios for kids that they will see simply as entertainment. Both my 12 and 15 year old have enjoyed them -- as have I.

Lovey story, meh narrator.

The narrator didn't convoy enough emotion. it's like, when a person reads a book to you, you don't just them to be droning on and on. You want emotion. You want voices rising and falling. You want the action to be in the room. I don't think the narrator did any of those things.
