Sweet, Fun, and Beautiful!

This was my first Laura Burton's book, and won't be my last. Emily and David fake marriage is a sweet, fun, heartwarming, and beautiful contemporary romance. Emily and David are both great, caring, and beautiful characters. They are great together. Connie Shabshab did an amazing job with the narration! She has a beautiful voice, easy to understand. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Looking forward for more books from this author!

Great book

I loved listening to this. Clean, but it still had a tiny bit bit of sizzle. The narrator was great. I’m not usually a fan of contemporary, but I did enjoy this one.

TWO WRONGS TO MAKE IT RIGHT

Emily and David’s world, they meet, to number one save her business, number two, a party to meet his family as his chosen one. A good plot of when feelings got in the way. Will two wrongs make a match .
The narration by Connie Shabshab was excellent in bringing this story to life.

Interesting Romance

This was an interesting romance. Emily needed financial investors for her match-making business and David needed a wife. When David shows up in her office looking for a match, Emily thinks it’s too good an opportunity to pass up and decides to be his perfect match. The story had an interesting twist, however I didn’t feel a connection with Emily. I just found her too selfish and conniving. On the other hand I really liked David. Though he was also keeping a secret he was sweet and caring and a really good guy. Connie Shabshab did an excellent job with the narration. She did a great job with both male and female voices. I received a free copy of this audiobook and have voluntarily provided an unbiased review.

A web of lies romance

I enjoy billionaire romance stories and this one did not disappoint. Our heroine needs an investor for her business and our hero needs a wife. Add a meddling grandmother and a web of lies from both sides and you get an interesting romance with a sweet naive buildup.
The narration was just ok. There was zero british accent although most characters were from England. And the male characters all sounded the same so that was confusing for me. Even though I didn’t love the narration I still recommend this book because I liked the storyline.

Some Nice Twists

I struggled in the beginning to like Emily. She was very self-centered, and everything seemed to be about her. When she decided to mess with David's dates to make him decide "she" was a likely candidate--especially when he stated up front he was looking for woman he could love and make a real marriage with--lowered her even more in my eyes. But, this is a story about a woman finding out what a rotten person she's become, so it was a good set up. And I was relieved when some of the situations began to cause problems with her conscience. I liked David much better, but he was keeping secrets too, so he wasn't a saint either.

It's a case of insta-love, and for a clean romance there's a lot of focus on they physical attraction rather than the things that could lead to a truly lasting relationship. But it's a billionaire romance. Leave it to them to finally find love and then mess it up.

There's quite a twist in the end and the grand gesture is very grand indeed. There were a few things that bothered me enough to take it down a star, but it's still a fun read. I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator did a decent job with the New York accents, but the English ones were missing.

I received a copy of the audiobook in exchange for my freely given honest review.

Secrets & Love

What happens when you want to expand your business and the only way to secure the funds is to get married? You find a pretend husband! Emily owns a matchmaking business and would like to open a new office. With the terms of her funding set, she knows she needs to find a husband fast! David comes to her and needs to find a wife in 30 days, having this opportunity fall into her lap! Emily is a strong willed, competent woman and does not need a man to complete her, so she thinks. David is a little shy, trips over himself when trying to impress(which I adore) and is very protective of his family. Love these two very different personalities. Its a joy to see how they meld. Laura Burton takes us on a fun filled adventure as these two navigate their new relationship. It's got humor, a lot of secrets and a twist that not only made me smile but was a complete surprise! This is my first book by the author, and I love her style, her low angst and the sweet romance she wove between these two!

Connie Shabshab is a new to me narrator, and I enjoyed her performance. She has a great pace, a huge variety of voices and really brings the story to life. She made it a wonderful listen!
