Really Good

It's a bit of a slow start but soon starts rolling along. I liked how the first part of the book is her story then it switches to his. A few chapters are dedicated to some of the other characters perspectives. Kept me guessing till the end and I like that!

Good thriller

I definitely enjoyed this book and it’s worth the purchase. I have however bread books a bit better this year so this gets an average review. The one excellent thing was that the book wasn’t highly predictable, I went back and forth with who I thought the true villain would be once all was exposed.

Boring and terrible "twist"

I didn't enjoy this book at all. It was very boring to hear the story from both perspectives. I also didn't care for the bizarre twist at the end.

Better than ok

I was bracing myself for this huge plot twist in the end. But, it was ok. The ending didn’t really bring the puzzle pieces together.

Mixed feelings great narrator

Started out very promising but quickly became one of those books that is not just intriguing the reader but actually tricking the reader. One of the characters was lying to the reader in their first person narrative. And I don’t like that. The author is thus lying to the reader and I need to trust the writer. I feel this is a lazy way to write a mystery. Not sure if I can explain this well, but that’s what bothered me about this. The ending left questions unanswered-another way writers cheat their readers these days. Also a bit too sexually graphic-especially considering if involved adult with teen sex.

I really liked this Book

I did not read the reviews because I didn't want to see any spoilers. I am glad I didn't because for me this story was not predictable, played out well and I was not sure who was the real villian here. Worth the credit.

I like this writer but....

I like Lucy Dawson a lot but this isn’t her best work. There is a mystery but it drags on and on and on. Worst, I found nothing redeeming about any of the characters, selfish, self absorbed, self righteous, all the “self-“ ,I actually hated all of them by the end. This book needed some good in it to balance all the rotten and it just wasn’t there. The narrator saved the book, she has a beautiful voice. Her characters voices ran into each other on occasion, female voice when it was a male speaking for example but overall she’s solid and I look forward to hearing her again. I hate giving such a low rating to a generally good writer but it won’t stop me from reading her in the future. Save the credit.
