Publisher's summary

A man on a mission...

Mackenzie Coalson was determined to rebuild his hometown after a devastating flood left it in ruins. He has no time for a relationship and all the romantic junk that goes with it. He has a vandal to catch and no sweet smelling bundle of femininity is going to sway him.

A woman protecting her family...

Dixie Harris charged into the county sheriff's office with a sassy sway and a smart mouth, eager to give the sheriff, and anyone else, a piece of her mind. When she locks horns with the devil himself, in the form of Mac Coalson, she quickly learns he has a temper to rival hers, even if he's the living epitome of her sexual fantasies.

When the two unite to catch a potential murderer, it's in everyone's best interest to keep it "business only". But that's hard to do when their combined attraction is volatile enough to burn down the town.

Just luv the sizzle of the main characters

They met as antagonists, him the person wronged, her defending her brother, who was inadvertently dragged into a situation not of his making.
The attraction is hotter than h3ll, but her temper, once ignited, was 10 times the heat.
Very good story, with the audiobook rendition enhancing the dramatic and suspense of this tale.

Entertaining enemies to lovers story with mystery

This is a great start to what I think will be an great series. This narrator, Skylar Summers, was the perfect voice for this story too. She had the right accent and the way she voiced the characters, it fit perfect. This is a great enemies to lovers story. Dixie and Mac can't stand each other. Dixie's brother and his friends are accused of being responsible for the vandalism on the houses that Mac's construction company is building. Dixie won't let anyone make her brother look like a criminal. She convinced Mac to let her brother work for him to make up for the trespassing the boys did do. The boys state that a man hired them to trespass. That's who they all think is behind the vandalism but no one knows who he is or where to find him. As Dixie is trying to save her brother's name and help Mac find who is responsible, a love connection forms between Mac and Dixie. Talk about opposites attract! This a great push and pull romance. Also a good mystery. And the case isn't fully solved. We get some answers but I think this will take a series to solve. I loved it. I was highly entertained and I can't wait to continue on in the series. The other characters in the series make it that much more fun. I highly suggest for small town romance with a hint of mystery fans!

Great Contempory Romance

This was my first experience with Maggie Adams' work, and it was entertaining. Mackenzie Coalson wanted to rebuild his town after a flood left most of the town in ruins. Some unknown person was vandalizing Mackenzie's new buildings. Dixie Harris burst into Mackenzie's life, but he was too busy for her even though there was an instant attraction to one another. I liked the complicated story of Mackenzie's and Dixie's path towards love. I liked the characters as they were fierce, determined, and protective. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Skylar Summers' narration was good, and her performance kept my attention. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review which reflected my opinions.

Get her some meds

I would like to know who Dixie can call herself a true southern lady when she looses her timper all the time. I just wanted to hit her, some one needs to give her some meds and send her to an anger management class. as far as Mac he is an idiot for even hooking up with her. I had to fast forward through most the the book.
