Publisher's summary

Hi, I'm Alexis Delaney. I'm your average 17-year-old girl. Except I can see the dead. And talk to the dead and help them move on. So...okay, I'm not your average 17-year-old girl. The Veil is still shut. Which means the dead can't move on, not on their own. Through my Link to the Veil, I've been able to start helping souls to cross. The Veil is changing, healing. Like I am.

Since I came home from the hospital, I've been hiding behind my best friends. That's about to change. I want my life back. I'm ready to get back to normal. Then Sophie, the twins' little sister, tells me she's ready to cross over. Ethan pulled her back, and now it was time to face it. I have to tell Ethan and Isaac their sister's soul is in their house. What the hell am I going to say?

Full of emotions

This book, Whispers From The Dead is just more. The Veil Diaries is just more. When is a hug more than a hug? When it's between the Tough guy and Baby. When is a kiss more than just a kiss? When it comes from any one of the guys. When is a dog more than just a dog? When it's Hades. When is a high school mean girl more than just a bit**? When it's Jessica (or Tara). See what I mean or should I go on? This book/this series is just more, it's everything!

Whispers From The Dead returns the reader to Alexis Delaney, 17-year-old high school necromancer, keeper of the Veil, lover of coffee, wanna-be tattoo artist, and center of the universe to an incredible group of young men, Miles, Asher, Isaac and Ethan, and Zeke. Lexy is still recovering from the brutal attack she suffered at the hands of Clay Ordin. She's in therapy for her PTSD and it's a daily struggle. All of her guys are having a hard time with her pain, but her trauma has triggered Zeke's own issues. It's a tough time for the friends. Not to mention that there's an influx of dead and they are getting pushier by the day. And there's still the issue of Sophie. It's time for her to cross. Lexie is tired; tired of the dead, tired of Veil work, tired of being afraid, tired of Tara's nastiness; plain old TIRED. But this is Lexie. She's a fighter and she has Rory, Hades, and her guys. She starts confronting her fears; fear from the attack and her deeper fear of abandonment. It's time she decides she's "all in".

This is a book of emotions. Negative; fear, anger, hurt, worry, feelings of betrayal. Positive; love, attraction, warmth, happiness, amusement, relief. It's a book of confrontations. It's time to face fears, stop procrastinating, and reveal secrets, Lexie's childhood impacted the person she became. The attack has left her forever changed. That's okay. She's still Alexis. She's a beautiful, fiery, talented, stubborn, intelligent, loving young lady. She has a temper and a potty mouth. She has a light that cannot be ignored. She's still Alexis, she just has a few more triggers that need to be acknowledged. The guys carry the weight of their own pasts. Growing up means putting the past to rest. Some are more successful at this than others. It's an on-going journey.

This is a beautifully written book in a series that impossibly gets better and better. It's a must-read and that will probably happen in one sitting. It's captivating. I am more attached to and invested in these fictional characters than I am in some of my actual acquaintances. I adore Lexi and her guys, Rory (World's Best Uncle), Maria, and Riley. I can't wait for more!

Fickle, far fetched, but likable characters

Ok, there’s some really engaging characters and story plot that I enjoy. However, if Lexi continues to be so insanely fickle, I’m going to give up on this series. Not to mention the fact that the fact that EVERY single guy she meets falls completely in love with her... wildly unbelievable.

Side note, I so very much want to see Maria and Rory get together!!

I like these kids

they all struggle with their own demons. they all support each other and try and understand and give each other the space to deal with their demons. still don't know what I think about Lexi. I like her I think she's a good kid but she is very insecure and self-doubting all the time. The story just strolls along it's not really about demons and witchcraft and death and the veil and it's not really just about the interrelationships between these kids. it's kind of both but it's not terribly heart stopping or exciting It just strolls along. and I like that between some of my hard-hitting books.

Another Winner

Storyline continues to get better and better. Another book you just can’t put down. Lexie continues to improve her skills in helping the dead pass over to the other side. The portal is now growing flowers and trees are looking more alive again. Some of the dead are getting stronger and wanting to pass to the other side. Some are getting bossy and demanding. Lexie one by one falls for another of her devoted 5 young men.
