Publisher's Summary

Two best friends follow a dangerous and seductive path in the final standalone novel of the bestselling Whiskey and Lies series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan.

Ainsley Harris has always kept a secret from her best friend. She’s stood by his side, helped him raise his daughter, and tried to keep her distance even though she’s been in love with him for years. She knows he has secrets of his own and she’s not willing to chance what they have on a possibility.

Loch Collins has hidden himself and his past from the world for good reason. Darkness always comes back to haunt those who fight against it, and he knows better than most. One night of temper, however, forces him to realize his true feelings for Ainsley—for better or worse.

But Loch’s former allies aren’t on his side anymore, and now not only is his life and the life of his daughter on the line, but Ainsley is in the crosshairs, as well. Together, two best friends must fight for each other and their small town, because Whiskey has never burned brighter. And danger, it seems, is ever lurking.

Good book!

This third and final installment to this series was an enjoyable read as Loch and Ainsley move their relationship from friends to lovers as the pair come to terms with their feelings for each other. Their story was an action packed read that I could not get enough of that had a few twists that I did not see coming. The chemistry between the pair was off the charts when they finally gave into their feelings. I enjoyed the return of the characters from the previous books since they were all close through out the previous books in the series. Loch and Ainsley's story was a great way to end this series and I am a bit sad that the series had to come to an end.
The narration from the audio version of this book that was performed by Maxine Mitchell was performed well making this book an enjoyable listening experience. The narration was clear and she did well differentiating between the different characters.
I would recommend this book and series to others.

Great Listen

Ainsley and Loch are best friends, and they have had feelings for each other for years and have been content with being friends. When they finally act on their feelings, things didn't just fall into place but the ride to get to the happily ever after is worth it.

Ainsley and Loch

I so enjoyed these two together, their story touched me emotionally, it was so moving! Warning - you will need your tissues handy! As usual Carrie Ann Ryan has written a story which pulls at your heartstrings, holds your attention and reaches deep inside you. You can not help but be moved by this book.

Ainsley and Loch are best friends, they have been for ages, neither one of them thought they would ever be more than that. Ainsley had been in love with Lock for longer than she cared to admit but was afraid to tell him, she feared she might lose her best friend if she did. Loch was very afraid of changing things between them after his experience with the mother of his child he was left with deep-seated issues regarding relationships.

Misty's mother decided that she didn't want to be involved with Loch or their precious daughter and signed over all parental rights - how can a mother do that? Loch basically became a single parent and Ainsley became even more involved in Loch's life, she spent lots of time with Misty, looked after her after school, took her to dance class, in short, she was like a mother to her in so many ways. Always there to help both Loch and Misty in any way she could.

When Ainsley tells him she's going out on a date, Loch's temper gets the better of him and they ended up having sex but as soon as it was over Loch refused to even talk to her, she left and Loch decided to visit the gym he owned to work off his frustration with the situation. But as he approached he saw flashing blue lights, one of his workers had been murdered and Loch appears to be the only suspect. A dark and sinister part of Loch's past is about to impact on his life and his future, bringing danger to both him and Ainsley.

When things come to a head, we get to see how wrong Loch's fears and thoughts regarding a future with Ainsley truly are, and how determined Ainsley really is. I loved the way that she fought for what she wanted and finally made her best friend see what they could really have together if only he would let go of his fears.

These two are made for each other the chemistry between them is palpable and hot, and because of their familiarity, friendship and trust built up over such a long time they really do know each other better than most and they deserve to have their HEA but they will have to fight not only their fears but the forces from Loch's past.

The story flowed really well, never lagging and the characters were truly well rounded and felt real. My enjoyment of this story was greatly enhanced by the excellent narration by Maxine Mitchell she hit just the right note with every character and brought so much emotion to play in her performance.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

A Great Ending To This Series!

I absolutely loved this one! I had wanted to know why Loch seemed so serious and repressed, and reading about why in this book definitely made me understand. But it also makes you sad for him. To understand just how much he went through and what his hopes for his own future had been at one time. And then learning about Ainsley and what happened in her past? That was heart breaking! Watching them both fight things out and actually learn what will bring them peace and happiness in the long run was beyond great! And then you throw in the suspense part and you will be on the edge of your seat! Maxine Mitchell does an excellent job narrating. Switching between characters doesn't get all strange and there isn't any weird talking.Definitely enjoyed listening to this one! I am sad to see it end but maybe we can have some off shoots from it!

Amazing Story!! Loved it!!

Loch and Ainsley!! Just wow!! They have been best friends for years and nothing more they help each other through the highs and lows. Example when Misty was born Loch’s daughter and her mother abandoned her Ainsley stepped up and helped, but that’s what best friends do for each other. However something changed along the way friendly feelings shifted and now something else has taken place neither are sure what is happening or if anything should because their friendship and Misty are what matters most. Overall, loved this story it’s a page turner and keeps the reader invested to see what’s coming and what will occur. Definitely a must read!! Highly recommend!

Exceptional Story and Performance

The final book in the Whiskey and Lies Series, Whiskey Undone, we learn about Loch and Ainsley's friendship. Ainsley has cared about Loch as more than a friend for years but hasn't wanted to rock the boat since Loch and his daughter Misty have been such a huge part of her life. She doesn't want to lose them. One night changes all of that. When Loch's past brings danger into his present he's determined to keep Misty and Ainsley safe, no matter what.

Maxine Mitchell does a wonderful job narrating this story. I was able to discern Loch's voice from Ainsley's. An excellent listen!

I had the pleasure of listening to this book in Audible in exchange for an honest review.

Heartwarming love story - brilliantly narrated!!

I really liked how Carrie Ann Ryan wrote the friends to lovers angle in this romance and I loved that it’s also very much about being a family. Loch’s daughter Misty is delightful, a bit precocious maybe for a four-year old, but cute and precious all the same.

Ainsley and Loch are wonderful together and know each other inside and out. Their love is strong from the onset, based as it is on their years of friendship. They also have amazing chemistry, which never hurts.

Loch has a mysterious past and knows how to take care of himself, but I’m glad he didn’t turn out to be a secret one-man army and instead relied on the authorities to try and catch the bad guys. He is very well-intentioned and a lovable grump, but he gets caught up in his “protection” mode and handles some things very badly because of that. He could have spared Ainsley a lot of grief if he had been more upfront with her and actually talked about his feelings. When they first cross the line from friendship into something more, cross it enthusiastically and repeatedly, together, he’s an insecure, guilty mess afterwards and seems to think it was purely his doing, which annoyed me a bit. She was there too.

Ainsley has suffered a great loss in her life, which sadly impacted her relationship with her mother. I was happy to see them grow closer again at last. Ainsley is an inspiring heroine and I think it’s great that she was able to rescue herself from certain situations instead of needing to be rescued by her big strong hero.

Maxine Mitchell is a brilliant narrator!! I loved how expressive her performance was! She really drew me into the story even more than I would otherwise have been and she was amazing with all the voices she did for the different characters.

Need more Collins brothers

I was so looking forward to listening to this book. I thoroughly enjoyed book 1. Lach was protective and provided added security to Kenzie and was always around to lend a helping hand. In book 2 we were introduced to his little green monster when he caught Fox and Ainsley walking together and talking after cooking class. So I was curious how this book would play out.

In some ways, I thought it was the perfect book. But there was a short time where I just wanted to crack him on the back of the head with a wooden spoon. I realize he was trying to protect those he loved, but man did he go about it the wrong way.

I will admit I would like to see a short novella maybe five years later and see how the Collins boys are doing with their families. I was not ready to let go of them.

I enjoyed Maxine Mitchel's performance. My only complaint (and not really a complaint) was that I missed the gruff and growly tones that only a male narrator could bring to both Dare and Lach. I thought she nailed the tone for Fox, but both Dare and Lach are more rough and tumble. Just my personal opinion.

Whiskey Love!!

I was waiting for this book since book 1. When you meet Loch and Ainsley you instantly just want to know what’s going on and in book 1 and book 2 you get pieces and now we finally get their full story and it was worth the wait. I love these two together, Ainsley is so strong and has no problem standing up to the big grumpy Loch. The way he softens for her and only her and his daughter is heart warming and makes you love him even more. This book is a great mix of romance, suspense and hot scenes. I loved it!
