If you knew beyond all doubt that one chance encounter would change the course of your future, what would you choose?

There’s nothing like a spring day in Boston to make your heart sing. I’m out with my girls, having drinks in a bar, enjoying the bright pulse of our beautiful city, when I see Caleb. The second my eyes meet his, I know this is the moment when everything will change. All I have to do is choose him.

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

This is one of those books where you don't really know what is going on or if you even like it until the VERY end. I spent 50% of this book being confused and trying to figure out what the author was up to. In the end I am feeling 50/50. Part 1 felt rushed, I would have enjoyed the relationship if maybe there had been more struggles that fed the connection but instead it felt like I was getting the cliff's notes of their relationship. Part 2 was good as long as I was only paying attention to the story and not dwelling on trying to figure out what was going on. The ending came together and I did enjoy what the author was up to but by then it was maybe a little too late to start loving the book. So I give the story 3.5 stars because I loved the idea just not the complete execution but I am rounding it up to 4 because I really enjoy the author's idea and originality.

The narration was great, all 3 narrators were a good fit for the characters. I love Aiden Snow and would love to see more audiobooks with him narrating.

I just can't!

When Ashes Fall gutted me, but I had no idea that this next book would totally wreck me. Caleb and Whitney from his POV was beautiful. I cried so much and my emotions ran so deep that I drowned in them. Gut-wrenching, tangible, true love born from circumstance. It was raw and real. From Whitney's POV, one more emotion came through...pissed. There was a moment where I was pissed at Caleb, but then guilt....haunting guilt that reminds you of how precious life is. And then, pure joy shined through and I was whole again. Hope said take a breath, I've got this! What an amazing read/listen. I'm looking forward to the third book. Ready for more beautiful torture. Three of my favorite narrators told this tale and they did not disappoint. I cried so much and I was so tore up that I messaged Marni to let her know I was not okay. Of course, I will torture myself and listen to the third book in this series. A solid 5 Stars Marni Mann❤.

To confusing

I couldn’t get into this book. It was too confusing. It was a good idea but wasn’t executed properly. I had to
skip to the ending to figure out what I was missing because I just couldn’t follow, it didn’t make sense.

WOW MARNI, THAT WAS UNIQUE!!

Oh where oh where do I begin.. and what can I 'spoiler free' say? Well, part 1 was told from Caleb’s POV and it will have you sympathizing, empathizing and sighing over the tragic events that led workhaholic adrenaline junkie Caleb and Nurse Whitney to meet. It was awful and heartwarming and touching as Caleb struggles - and Whitney is right there by his side helping and giving him strength and support. Their relationship is beautiful, their connection is undeniable and their love is inevitable. Part 2 is then told from Whitney’s POV and wow.. wtf.. a real doozy of a head scratcher as a very different story plays out and I tried to figure out the 180 degrees of it all the way through the compelling second half. All I can say is thank God for the Epilogue! Great narration brought the characters, the scenes and the feels to life. WORTH A CREDIT? Yes, for me, it's definitely a 4 star unique and pretty enjoyable listen.. where Fate and Destiny and a wonderful bff play a huge part.. enough said!!

Reaching

I read the reviews before I purchased this book. Most of them hinted at this book being different from most. I LOVE a book that had a twist. It's a welcomed reprieve from the norm. After the book ended I can say emphatically those reviews are reaching! The parallel that was drawn between part 1 and 2 wasn't deep enough. We literally listened to two different stories I expected there to be more. I feel like I wasted my time of this book. Performance was good but the book and different parts did not come together in my opinion.

My heart continues to feel more with every book.

Listening to this book, just like with When Ashes Fall, broke my heart and out it back together. Tragedy, then love. Love, then heartbreak. Heartbreak, then wholeness. And once again, broken. Only to be thrown together in a whirl of wholehearted emotion. I love these book something fierce, and I cannot wait to listen to the next one.
The intensity, the love, the passion, it all threw me to the wolves and had me whirling and thirsting to know what happens next.
Well done, as always, Marni. Quickly became one of my favorite authors. 📕 ❤🖤💛💜

Caleb and Whitney are perfect in everyway! I love their relationship and the way you see if come alive.

The ending was not what I thought it would be but it was still perfect!!

WOW! Mind Blown!

*** Have you ever wondered "What if I had just done this instead of that?" in my opinion, that is what this story is. I have never listen to a book quite like this one. This is not your average storyline book. I have listened to hundreds of books and this is the first time I have ever written a review. It's not a book that you can figure out what's going to happen just by reading the summary, or by listening to the first chapter. This was a great book and very different. I dont want to give anything away so just let me say this; this story is in three parts. At first, I thought it was Caleb's and Whitney's story from each of their POV, but it wasn't so my advice to you is just listen to their stories and don't try to analyze or figure out the descripisies because there are major descripisies their stories don't line up at all. Just listen and get lost in their stories you will cry, laugh, swoon , and get mad but it is all worth it once you hear the epilouge. The narrators are two of my favorites and did an amazing job as usual. I would listen to this one again because I know I would enjoy it differently now that I understand it.

First time writing a review

Just NO! Part one, great!
Part two, and a large majority of book, a hell no.
And part 3, a sorry little closure.
Two entirety different stories here. How one decision can change how things work out in your life. What a waste of time. I’m actually a little pissed.
But narration was great.

Moving, wonderful

When We Met is a book with a main link to When Ashes Fall, and just like When Ashes Fall it gave me all of the feelings. Seriously, this is a story that is going to stay with me. It asks the questions, what would happen if you stopped to take a picture, ignored a call or took a different route. Would your life change for the better, would it change forever, or would it end. It highlights that a second of choice impacts the route that the rest of ones life.
I have genuinely shed some tears, then sat for a while just considering this story, and the reality of what happened that day in Boston, and the real impacts of that devastating day.
Yes, despite some of this series being based around a tragedy, this is a work of fiction, and Marni has an amazing talent for leaving the reader thinking what if?
The plot, without giving too much away, does address the question of how a small choice can have a huge implication. The writing is beautiful, emotional and moving and once again, this is going to stay with me.
The narrators, Aiden Snow, Ava Erickson, and Savannah Peachwood all delivered a wonderfully moving and thoughtful performance. Their voices worked well together and they all managed to put exactly the right amount of emotion into their narration.
