Unusual, thrilling ghost story

This is a great audiobook that kept me captivated from start to finish. It's not your usual ghost story, it's unusual, has great plot twists, characters that have depth and is an excellent mix of suspense, action, romance and the supernatural. The narrator suited the book well. She did an excellent job of both male and female voices, I even checked at one point to see if there was a second male narrator. The authors descriptive writing combined with the great narration makes you really visualize the characters and what is happening. It is an exciting, enjoyable story and I will look forward to the next book in this series. I received the audiobook from the author at no cost and under no obligation.

Unexpected

This is the first "ghost story" that I have listened to in a long time. I have not listened to many horror stories as my preferred genre is mystery and romance. I found this book to be well written although it was unbelievable with both the good and evil spirits. It was a nice change of pace. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher.

An Action Packed Chiller!

I love supernatural thrillers and this one has it all. What a well written story and a perfect narrator for it. Not only is it a paranormal thriller but its full of so much action. I believe anyone who likes ghost stories, thrillers, or just action will love this book as much as I did.

I received this audiobook free of charge from Audiobook blast, in exchange for an unbiased review

A Really Good Paranormal Romance

When They Come Calling was a good listen. It was different than other similar audiobooks in the same genre. I liked the plot, it was easy to follow. The story didn't get bogged down with filler. It flowed well. I enjoyed the characters of Anna and Jed. Overall this was a well written book by Sarah Fleming Mountford.

Elizabeth Saydah's performance was excellent. She kept a good pace, not too slow or too fast and she had great voice inflections. She did a wonderful job narrating.

The reader of This Book Is So wooden.

I have to say I was expecting more from this book. However it may be the reader is the problem. she sounds so cold and with the tone that you cannot be bothered with anything. It really kills the story it makes it almost boring. on the romance element her tone absolutely kills the story and She lays down absolutely no chemistry. oh, and this Ned and Jed thing the author has going on it's just annoying!

Well written, entertaining

This was a welll written adventure. Except for one completely illogical, reaction to a kiss by the heroine, the story was orgin6and make sense. I'm really looking forward to the sequel.

When They Come Calling

Great book. Little bit of romance and a little bit of paranormal all rolled into one.

Anna is a doctor with her own low income clinic in Kansas City. What she doesn't tell anyone is that she can see ghosts. Well apparently she also has a one of a kind give of "releasing" them. So they want her dead or just want her. Her guardian Jed shows up just in time to save her. its a fun and suspenseful book that holds your interest until the end.

The narration was good. She does a decent job with dialect although it's sometime confusing on which of the male characters are talking.

I received a free audio version of this book in exchange for an honest review. I thoroughly enjoy this one and look forward to book 2 in the series.

Intriguing

A doctor saved by a stranger who knows her. An ability to see ghosts. A battle between good and evil.

This is part one of a series and I was disappointed to see no other book is available yet, because I'd be interested in knowing what happens next.

Anna is a doctor with more than an ability to heal. She has an ability to release ghosts from their earthly ties, however, the ghosts have other ideas. They seem to want to take over the world. A stranger with a strange tale telling Anna she is essential to the battle to save humanity. A strange council.

This is an interesting story, well read by Elizabeth Saydah. There's a slow build up of the story, developing the relationship between Anna and Jeb, her self-appointed protector, as well as several other characters. There's an epic battle by the end and the lead up to another book.

I liked this story and am interested in reading the rest of the series ... hint, hint :)

A Ghostly Paranormal Story Biblicaly Inspired

Any additional comments?

I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom. This story was very interesting and only got more interesting, especially at the end. Now I am curious about future volumes. The narration was a bit clinical in tone, but I took that to be because the main character is an atheist doctor with supernatural abilities she has a hard time believing to be true. I found it interesting how the narrator incorporated characters and history from the bible and ancient world histories with the supernatural immortal beings. I'm curious to see what adventures the characters have for them in the next book.
