When her latest original song went number one in 1977 on the country charts Laney McKay, America’s sweetheart went home to Grand County, Colorado for a charity concert and to relax in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains to prepare for her upcoming United States tour the following summer. Laney, basking in her new fame and fortune, just wanted some time in the mountain mist of her home in Grand County. No one knew Laney had a secret that she held dear to her heart there amongst the evergreens and aspens trees.
Laney did not know her secret and she were about to run headfirst into a notorious crime syndicate called “The Insurgence”. Laney’s life would never be the same when she vanished just below the timberline.
Follow Under-sheriff Dane Lee and Deputy Nickey Lynn as they search the towns of Grand County, and the remote wilderness of Rocky Mountain National Park for the elusive and now famous songstress. Dane and Nickey will encounter the worse that the high country offers; they will battle the weather, altitude, renegade outlaws, all with the help of a spirit of the Ute Indians that still haunts these mountains.
