Publisher's Summary

True never guessed that life would be this hard. Being only 25 years old, she should have been being wild, reckless, and having fun, not fighting the hardest battle of her life, alongside a husband who no longer loved her. After their divorce, True wanted to be free and enjoy every day. Falling in love was not in the plan. She most definitely hadn't foreseen falling in love with an arrogant, womanizing hustler like Coop. Yet, she did. However, as soon as True tells him all her truth, he'll revert back to that unbearable goon that wreaked havoc on the streets of Chicago.

Coop grew up an orphan, passed from foster home to foster home. A hustler, his right-hand man, was his only family. His love was the game. His side chick was money. Then he met True. She filled gaps in his life that he didn't even know needed filling. Looking at her, being in her presence, was like the first warm, sunny day after a brutal Chicago winter. Being with her felt like being lost in the right direction. Coop had thawed out his icy heart and given it to True...just for her to break it. True was gone, unable to fix what she’d broken, but, lucky for Coop, True found a way.

Remi has been with Banks for 10 years. She remained loyal through every lie and infidelity in hopes that her patience and understanding will eventually bring her “happily ever after” with her one true love. Finally, Banks gives her what she has always wanted...a ring. However, that ring came with such a devastating blow, leaving Remi unsure how she will ever recover...until she meets True and Coop. Unbeknownst to her, these two strangers will mend her broken heart and cause her life to never, ever be the same again.

This is a heart-wrenching, yet warming, story of broken women who find love in their darkest hours from the most unexpected and hardened hearts.

The story line was amazing but....

I loved this story. Shortly into it I wish I would have just read it and not purchased it on Audible. The female narrator is HORRIBLE!!!! Jakobi Diem always delivers and saved this book. It is very well written, the characters moved me to tears. Amazing story! The female narrator....

Female narrator is AWFUL (fell asleep)

I am a Watkins and Diem fan but Laurel — NEVER AGAIN! I couldn’t even get into the storyline. Wasn’t expecting that the 3rd storyline. Would’ve been entertaining perhaps if Laurel wasn’t killing the vibe. After I woke I knew I HAD to exchange it. - An irritated hopeless romantic

Not good

This book is extremely elementary. The reading of the music lyrics is silly. The way the narrator speaks sounds too forced. The building of the story is very poor. I started the book so I wanted to finish...but it was very poorly written.

Decent Story

This story was decent, very touching. Could’ve been even better if the female narrator was good. She was pretty bad. Jakobi was great as usual!

WARNING:SPOILER ALERT

the story line ok. A little far fetched with the whole hooking up my man with my hospice nurse so he won't be lonely stuff was wack. As a woman, I don't give a damn, I'm not pushing the next chick on my man while I laid up awaiting my impending doom. The female narrator could have been better. Her performance was a tad lack luster and all of her characters sound almost identical. Jacoby was amazing per usual. Wish he would have read the whole book.

Soul Stirring

My emotions are now all over the place! I've screamed at Remy for being dumb, shook my head at Coop, because he is one crazy ninja, cried with Angel, because True was my daughter too , and prayed that I could see Joy and Key's faces! Phenomenal read!
