Gave Me New Respect for the Humble Bicycle

The bicycle was historically pivotal - a key element in the transition from horses to autos. The bicycle was also transformational for the very fabric of society, as it allowed women to BE not only more independent, but to VIEW themselves as more independent.

The bicycle even changed the direction of fashion, as women began to give up long skirts and frilly petticoats in favor of more practical attire such as bloomers, culottes, and eventually pants (how radical).

As with other major societal changes, there was resistance to women’s biking, yet there was enough support and female determination to

The bicycle has had an incalculable, global impact. “Wheels of Change” shines a light on something ordinary and demonstrates its extraordinary role in human history.

wheels of change review

I believe this book was well written, and spoken very well. I struggle with reading books so I am very appreciative that there is an audio version. The only reason I wouldn't give it a completely over all five stars is that I was confused when the narrator would reference page numbers. If possible, it would be really great to include some sort of summary or explanations on the story the dates, the sources of information simply because it was treated very quickly and there were many many different sources. Thank you for the recording I appreciate everything that the narrators do and mostly I am grateful for audible.com and the ability to learn and discover the joy of reading, or well listening to books that have great significance in our history🤗
