  • Episode 121: Spaceman, Damsel, Irish Wish
    Apr 25 2024

On this episode of What’s New to Netflix, we are joined by a previous guest of the show, Savannah, when we talk about all the new stuff coming to Netflix in April 2024.

Then we witness Adam Sandler befriending a giant alien spider, voiced by Paul Dano, as he explores the mysteries of the universe and his life in Spaceman from 2024. Next, Millie Bobby Brown is betrayed by her new in-laws and sacrificed to a monster in Damsel, also from 2024. And finally, Lindsay Lohan wants to marry this one guy, but then this other guy shows up, and she wants to be with him, but she’s going to marry the first guy in Irish Wish from 2024 as well.

All of this plus movies based on board games, movies with alternate titles, the return of the talented Mr. Ripley, the worst reality competition shows we’ve ever heard, the return of the talented Woody Woodpecker, pirates, Duran Duran, and how we all go from excited to disappointed over an iconic MTV series.

  • Episode 119: X, The Catcher Was a Spy, Mea Culpa
    Mar 21 2024

What’s New to Netflix has been a podcast for nine years now! We talk on all of the new stuff coming to Netflix in March 2024, review three movies, and even talk a bit about Dune 2 in celebration!

For the reviews, Ti West brings us a movie where a group of aspiring filmmakers shoot an adult film in rural Texas, but not before risking life and limb in X from 2022. Next, it’s the true story of baseball player turned government spy Mo Berg, played by Paul Rudd, in The Catcher Was a Spy from 2018. And then we watch Kelly Rowland uncover the truth about an infamous painter and her duplicitous husband in Tyler Perry’s Mea Culpa from 2024.

All of this plus what it means to be a ninja in Beverly Hills, deciphering the MonsterVerse, the problem of too many comedians, unconventional biopics, those darn Young Royals, everything you can think of becoming a competition show, and a woman turns into a chicken nugget.
